Publisher's summary

NOW A PRIME VIDEO SERIES from internationally bestselling author Harlan Coben

Mickey Bolitar's year can't get much worse. After witnessing his father's death and sending his mom to rehab, he's forced to live with his estranged uncle Myron and switch high schools.

A new school comes with new friends and new enemies, and lucky for Mickey, it also comes with a great new girlfriend, Ashley. For a while, it seems like Mickey's train-wreck of a life is finally improving—until Ashley vanishes without a trace. Unwilling to let another person walk out of his life, Mickey follows Ashley's trail into a seedy underworld that reveals that this seemingly sweet, shy girl isn't who she claimed to be. And neither was Mickey's father. Soon, Mickey learns about a conspiracy so shocking that it makes high school drama seem like a luxury—and leaves him questioning everything about the life he thought he knew.

First introduced to readers in Harlan Coben's adult novel, Live Wire, Mickey Bolitar is as quick-witted and clever as his uncle Myron, and eager to go to any length to save the people he cares about. With this series, Coben introduces an entirely new generation of fans to the masterful plotting and wry humor that have made him an award-winning, internationally bestselling, and beloved author.

The BEST yet, even without Win.

Terrific reader, terrific plot.

Podel gives life to each separate character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Couldn't stop listening until the mystery was solved, this time.

Any additional comments?

Superb, but I still missed the character "Win".

He who saves one life saves the world.

The butterfly tattoo and it's roots ran deep, it took on a life of it's own. Making the world better in increments with the abionial shelter. Elizabeth "Lizzy "showbeck helped saved many children from the holocaust and then came to America and started the Abionial Shelter helping kids. Lizzy which is known as the "Bat lady" survived Auschwitz concentration camps orphaned. Mickey's father worked for the shelter all over the world but decided to resign to give his son a normal life. when he did he ended up in an accident and died. this story takes you on all kinds of highs and lows. But the way it ended.... juicy and left me wanting more. you never know what your purpose in life is or how it ties back to your ancestors or for the greater good. A MUST READ! #book33of2019 #bookworm #whatsnext

Fabulous book

I wasn’t sure where it was going but I fell in love with the teenagers & their bond & determination to help another. I kept thinking this must be a YA book but I’m 59 & loved it. I’m a new Harlan Coben fan. I enjoyed everything I’ve listened too.
I’m off to see if this is a series due to the way it ended. I HOPE SO!

A little unrealistic, but an enjoyable story :-)

My only criticism is the maturity attributed to a high school sophomore main character. Accepting this aspect, the story was good and characters were well developed. It clearly is setting up for a series, which is fine and I will try more Mickey Bolitar books to see how this series develops. I enjoyed the book and recommend it as a light listen.

This read is filled with intrigue, suspense, trust, innocence. And without any vulgarity, which shows true talent. Absolutely beautiful.

Great Story

Loved the developing character of Micky Bolitare --- Can't wait until he starts to trust Uncle Myron and they fight the bad guys together.
