Publisher's summary

In an alternate reality a lot like our world, every person's physical size is directly proportional to their wealth. The poorest of the poor are the size of rats, and billionaires are the size of skyscrapers.

Warner and his sister Prayer are destitute - and tiny. Their size is not just demeaning, but dangerous: day and night they face mortal dangers that bigger, richer people don't ever have to think about, from being mauled by cats to their house getting stepped on. There are no cars or phones built small enough for them, or schools or hospitals, for that matter - there's no point, when no one that little has any purchasing power, and when salaried doctors and teachers would never fit in buildings so small. Warner and Prayer know their only hope is to scale up, but how can two littlepoors survive in a world built against them?

A brilliant, warm, funny trip, unlike anything else out there, and a social novel for our time in the tradition of 1984 or Invisible Man. Inequality is made intensely visceral by an adventure and tragedy both hilarious and heartbreaking.

"Warner's distinctive voice and language compel readers to pay attention to this detailed world.... Brilliant, savage, hilarious, a riveting journey through a harsh world that mirrors our own." (Kirkus)

Great Narration

I enjoyed the book overall, though it had its pits.
The narration was great! Felt perfect for the book.

Nope not for me maybe for a teenage boy???

Oh brother this book was so ridiculous! Definitely not a good idea for an audiobook. All you get is He said, He said, she said, he said…..and the way the narrator said numnums not sure the spelling but it’s the word for $. It is said way to many times.
It’s like reading the journal of a 12 year old boy. I stopped after the main characters sister went to a frat party got naked with 2 hookers in a bath of oil ( shes and the 2 hookers are the size of rats) So supposedly she had no idea what was going on till the boys (Normal size) took the bath into a bedroom and undid their pants.
The sisters character is so sad and pathetic which irritates me. Won’t waste anymore of my time on this one. Sadly I’m out one credit but not worth finishing….

Great piece of metaphorical satire!

I loved Munmun! It is a thrashing political commentary wrapped up in the best of Young Adult storytelling. Amazing!
