Publisher's Summary

Before borders were drawn, before treaties were signed, before wars were waged anew, before the great kingdoms of the Remnant were even born and the world of old was only a hazy slate of memory told in story and legend, a girl and her family fought to survive. And that girl's name was Morrighan.

In Morrighan, a prequel novella to Mary E. Pearson's The Remnant Chronicles, a girl and a boy from enemy camps meet, fall in love - and set history in motion.

A little gem for the collection...

This is truly a beautiful little short story.
I consider this a little gem in the scratch patch.

Morrighan is a must read

This brief base on the history of Morrighan is a great little read to The Remnant Chronicles. It gives a must needed insight into the origins of Morrighan.

Quick, interesting novella!

Where does Morrighan rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's a short, 2 1/2 hour audio book, so I don't think it's fair to compare it to other normal size books. But, it is a decent love story in an old, brutal, fantasy world.

What other book might you compare Morrighan to and why?

Any love story between young people that come from different worlds & beliefs, and the challenges that arise from that relationship.

What about MacLeod Andrews and Julia Whelan ’s performance did you like?

Since the story is told from the viewpoints of the male and female main characters, it worked very well to have them split between two narrators. It really made their feelings and outlook on situations all the more real & jarring.

Any additional comments?

I haven't read the main trilogy, so I can't compare, but if the main story-line is as good as the reviews say, I can understand why this short story set in earlier times would pull at the heartstrings.

Nice side story!

A very nice side story that gives a lot of background to the old stories told in the main books. Excellent!

kind of slow

This book was very slow in progression. I almost quit, buggy kept plodding to the finish. Not sure I'm getting the next installment

Beautiful Descriptor

I absolutely loved the style of this story. The descriptions were well written and left my imagination immersed in an enchanting, gorgeous, wild world. I loved the fierce and simple purity of the love story, which these days is hard to come by. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. Thanks so much Mary for sharing your mind with me!

omg.

Such a great prequel! I really wish it was longer. I want more, so much more. This was wonderfully written. There's so much more stories to tell of this world the author has imagined

This was so good! I couldn't wait to return to it every day. It really teaches you to humanize your enemies. This is my first read it of this series and I'm definitely looking into the rest!

Loved the story line, could have been a novel

It was lovely to be able experience this beautiful world that Mary E Pearson created in the Remnant Chronicles. I loved the story line but it felt rushed and would have done the story justice if it was a novel and not a novella.
