I enjoyed listening to this story.

Lera's Sorrow: A Coming of Age Fantasy Darkliete, Book 1
By: Gail Gernat Narrated by: Chloe De Burgh

The narrator did a great job. I enjoyed listening to this story. It took a while to become interested, but once I was in, I had to know what was next. I rate this book with 3 Boundless stars; I liked it.

fun but short

this story was refreshing, even though I felt like the things with the two romantic characters moved fairly quickly it was easy to look past. I am looking forward to what's to come.

I received this audio book free for an honest review.

Should've been book 0.5 rather than 1.

I think I'm going to like this series. I like the setup, the world and fantasy setting seem wonderful and the narrator is great. My only complaint with this story is that it feels like a prequel novella rather than the first book; and while that works great for a setup and timeline you come in to the story feeling a bit like your missing something as you have no back story for these charaters and it takes you a bit to get into the story. My best description would be like a novella an author release between books or as part of an anthology to give the reader more of charaters they love and more back story. But since this is the first book you aren't in love with these charaters yet and the story isn't as satastifing. However it's still a good little novella and I like the writing style, the fantasy world and imagine I will really enjoy the next book as it is longer. Think I may have enjoyed this one better if I listen to them in reverse. I was given a copy of this Audiobook in exchange for my honest review all thoughts and comments on the book are my own.

Lera’s Sorrow

This short novella is a nice introduction to the Darkliete series. Lera and Ian are bound together, but there are difficulties... humans and elves are not meant to be together.

Gail Gernat has created a wonderful new world, and I’m looking forward to seeing where this series goes!

This is the first narration I’ve listened to by Chloe De Burgh, and I really enjoyed it.

I was given this review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

a great book

The struggle of choosing between love and duty can be truly difficult. Just imagine what it must be like when you are magically linked to both! I loved this book! It was a good mix of great writing and narration!

A great beginning

This audio Book comes alive with the narrator's voice. It is vivid and the characters are greatly written. I love fantasy worlds and Madean and Frain is becoming some.of my favorites. After meeting a human Prince named Ian Lera's ,a elven healer, life is thrown out of balance

Lera's sorrow

This is the first book to the Darkliete trilogy. It was awesome. It introduces the fantasy realms of Madean & Frain and takes you through the journey of Lera, a young elven healer faced with insurmountable odds

Needed more

While I enjoyed this story, for the most part, it was a little difficult to get in to without much background on the characters. When the story started, we were already in the thick of the plot, which caused me to lost a bit of focus on the story. It was difficult to connect with the characters, as well. It’s a nice story, but it needed more.
