To get away from his chaotic, often violent parents, 17-year-old Jesse has moved into an apartment with his brother. They are both taking community college courses in Fresno. But to pay for them, they must take whatever jobs they can find, even backbreaking field work.

Glad yo have found my favorite book.

I read this book in college and it has been my favorite book since then. I hadn't read it in a few years so I'm glad I have the audiobook and can listen to it on my commmute, whenever I want.

the chapters are not number correctly because the audiobook book shows it's only for but in reality there's 19
