Publisher's summary

Young genius Morag Chen doesn't believe in the supernatural. Or not until a thousand gods show up in front of her, appearing from a clear-blue sky. The Architects are terrifying, they're hypnotically attractive, and they're real - but what are they, and what do they want, and why have they stolen the mind of Daniel Calder, the person she is closest to?

Ancient gods? Invading aliens? Everyone has a theory, but no one has guessed the truth. In this dark, suspenseful, mind-bending sequel to The Fire Seekers, Morag picks up the narration from Daniel as she works to accept that there's more than one way to think about the nature of humanity. And she will find that the only way forward is through secrets that Daniel himself seems desperate but unable to convey.

A mysterious lab. The house of a dying billionaire. The hidden home of a strange and forgotten people. In each of these places, Morag and Daniel will come a step closer to answers, hope, and a way of fighting back.

my new favorite!

Artfully done! I can't wait for the next installment! the one thing I don't like - which has nothing to do with this book - is the ridiculous restriction that audible won't allow me to leave a review unless it's at least 15 words - is this enough for ya now, audible!

Too Much Teen Angst and Lust

Narrator was great. Story was not as good or compelling as in the first book. Most of the book was filled with Morag's lustful thoughts of Kit. Actual story moved very slow as you had to slug through the lust just to get to another plot point. It was very annoying.

To much teen obsession

on chapter 8 and I dont think I'll be able to finish it due to the teen lust/ inner monologing. Im not 16 anymore so not a big fan of teens stuff. 1st book was awesome 2nd book not so much cause of the teen inner monologing.
Update. I managed to finish it after skipping past all the teen emotions. Overall I loved the parts without the teen drama and do plan on listening to the 3rd. Narrators on both 1st and 2nd books are fantastic so thats a wonderful bonus
