Publisher's Summary

Rossamnd Bookchild stands accused of not truly being a human at all, but of being a monster. Even the protection of Europe, the Branden Rosethe most feared and renowned monster-hunter in all the Half-Continent might not be enough to save him. Powerful forces move against them both, intent on capturing Rossamnd whose existence some believe may hold the secret to perpetual youth.

"As good as the Harry Potter books"

Dont be fooled by this series this is no childs tale. Horrors both man and beast run through these pages and you will soar with telling of the tale of young Rosamund Bookchild. Expertly illustrated by the author himself (not that you can see this in an audio book) open your eyes and mind to world of the Monster blood tattoo series you wont be disappointed.

"Please tell me there's more after this!!!"

Excellent and well worth the wait - but please tell me there'll be more to follow! I want to know what happens after this stage of life for our little Foundling. I would rank this series of stories right up there with Harry Potter - totally engrossing and completely unique.

    Story
    "I have good news!"

I fell in love with the first book in this trilogy, Foundling in 2008. Then shortly after Lamplighter. I was very much in awe of the depth, detail and lore that DM Cornish had created in his world. I loved the characters because they were none of them perfect yet very endearing, likable and admirable. When this final book was released, and I learned that it was the conclusion to a trilogy I was so upset. I would listen to the story up until about the 4th chapter from the end and then I would start it again at chapter 1, because I DID NOT WANT IT TO END. I eventually did listen to the entire story and have since then listened to all three books at least 4 dozen times. Sometime in 2011 or so I became fb friends with DM Cornish and he is so very humble and kind and engages with his readers and fans quite often. I harassed him a bit about a week back and said that Rossamünd deserved so MUCH more than just 3 books. He replied shortly after and said that he agreed and that he had another book on the drawing board.
So, if you are already a loving fan of these books that DM wrote and for which he created the most detailed and unique world then YAY US...we are going to get to go on another adventure with Rossamünd soon! If you have not read/listened to the Trilogy yet then I envy you because you get to experience it for the first time. I RARELY write reviews for ANYTHING. This series, the characters, the beautiful writing with some of the most creative and subtle metaphors and the absolutely outstanding narration by Humphrey Bower rank these books at the very top of my list. That's saying something as I have over 1k titles on Audible alone.
One note, people think this is a children's book series, and while I very much agree that children over the age of 8 or 9 will have their imaginations set ablaze when they listen to this, there is some violence that may not be appropriate for the little ones.

A lovely story, I am sad to have it end. As much as I would more, the story ended as it should, my imagination to carry it on.

    "Bravo!"

An absolute pleasure to listen to. Performance is the best audio book I've ever listened to. I fell in love with the main characters and that's why I would love to see a fourth book. Clever story and mind bending detail.

    "Brilliant!!"
Would you consider the audio edition of Factotum: The Foundling's Tale, Part Three to be better than the print version?

To me, I find all books easier in the audio edition.

What other book might you compare Factotum: The Foundling's Tale, Part Three to and why?

I don't know of any book that can be compared to or rivaled by Factotum.

What does Humphrey Bower bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr. Bower brings the characters to life with emotion and speech characteristics that are unique to each individual character.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I had had the time to listen to it in one sitting, I would have. The story keeps rolling even when it's just day to day happenings within the story. Much like the Harry Potter series.

    Any additional comments?

Factotum: A Foundling's Tale, brings The whole issue of stereotyping into the forefront of your mind. After listening to the story you can't help but wonder who and when you have judged based upon what they looked like or what culture they were born into. Definitely a must listen!!

    "Fresh take on steampunkish monsters."
Where does Factotum: The Foundling's Tale, Part Three rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I have really enjoyed this entire series, including Factotum.

What other book might you compare Factotum: The Foundling's Tale, Part Three to and why?

They're part Alice in Wonderland, part grim, monster-ridden horror-story.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Rosamund exploring the Branden Rose's home.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

    Creeping realization, soft horror.

    Any additional comments?

Listen to the entire series from the beginning!

    "Happy, Sad, Thankful.."

Happy to finally hear the third installment of this wonderful series.
Sad when it ended. (Which, by the way, ended exactly as it should).
Thankful that I stumbled on to such a great author!
