Winner of the Australian Book of the Year Award for Older Children, John Flanagan has sold millions of his popular Ranger’s Apprentice series. A fledgling Ranger, Will has walked along many a dangerous path, but none more treacherous than the one before him now. Following Araluen’s truce with the Skandians, a desert tribe captures the Skandian leader. The Rangers are sent to free him, but the searing desert has swallowed whole more than one brave adventurer.

Back to the "meat of it"

What did you love best about Erak's Ransom?

That it went back and filled in a time in wills life which really had been missing

What did you like best about this story?

That it had all the characters in it which we have gone to love not just will and maybe one of the others.

Have you listened to any of John Keating’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, and this one is back to like is earlier works from this same series.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, when will showed up right before the be-headings.

Any additional comments?

Loved this book as well as almost everything he writes. Originally got these for my son, yet seems I'm the one hooked.

Amazing book loved it

It had been a little obvious that Will was going to find his horse because he had it in the last book. But it was still amazing! Five stars

My family loves this series...

...but this book is my favorite so far. If you love adventure books that are pre-tech, old times, & full of likeable characters this series is for you. Erak's ransom has it all.
