Publisher's summary

DRAGON ISLAND is a dark, young adult fantasy that explores the dysfunctional relationships that often exist between nature and technology, and father and son. With action and cliffhangers galore moving the story along at a breakneck pace, DRAGON ISLAND combines elements of Japanese pop culture and mythology with the Western coming-of-age tale to create an adventure that will have both young and old racing through to hear what happens next!

Any additional comments?

A phenomenal story narrated by one of the best narrators there is!

Raymond is this 13 or 14 year old kid suddenly thrust into a world of adventure and non-stop action. He continually thought of himself as a coward but I think many would feel that way if put in his position.

My favorite character was Isiro <---- might be spelled wrong. But he was a true warrior in this and I only wish he'd been in the story more.

I was a bit disappointed in Raymond by the end of the story because he never made a conscious decision to do anything that was brave, or that would help someone. What looked like brave actions to others were accidentally done. So, I felt as though he didn't actually grow into the role of a warrior. But what a fun, death defying adventure he went on. I loved all the creatures and somewhat mystical people he came across.

This is definitely a very well creatively written adventure!

My main issue with this audio book was editing. This audio book was obviously not edited.
And it's noticeable around chapter 24 or 25 and chapter 39. But it just shows how professional and amazing Chris Patton is as a narrator because even with a small distraction, he's able to bring you right back into the story.

The other issue I had with this story were the quotes at the beginning of every chapter. I absolutely hate when music is played, quotes are mention, or the title along with the chapter is done for every chapter. It's such a huge distraction especially when I'm engrossed into a story.

So, other than that, like I said before this is definitely a very well, creatively written adventure!
