Publisher's summary

In New York Times best-selling author Darynda Jones's Death, Doom and Detention, the normal part of Lorelei MacAlister's life didn’t just slip away quietly the day Jared Kovach came to town. Nope. The normal part of her life shattered. It exploded. It burst into a gazillion shards of fleeting light. It went out with a bang. Goodbye normal. Hello dark and eerie.

While her best friend, Brooklyn, is focusing all of her energy on helping Lorelei hone her abilities, Lorelei is dealing with the reality that Satan's second in command has taken up residence inside her body. Oh, and the fact that she has a crush on the Angel of Death. But what a beautiful death it is. If those weren't bad enough, something sinister has come to town and it wants nothing more than to hear Lorelei's dying breath as it strangles it out of her. Thank goodness the gang has a supernatural champion. But what happens when the only being who can save them switches sides midstream? How can a group of misfits capture one of the most powerful beings ever created? And will they find out how to bring Jared back to them before it’s too late?

Fantastic! Can't wait for the next book!

Where does Death, Doom, and Detention rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Darynda Jones is by far one of my favorite authors and this book exceeded my expectations.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love the dynamic between Cameron and Jared.

What about Lorelei King’s performance did you like?

I love everything abut Lorelei King's performance! I don't know how she has time to voice so many of my favorite books, but I am very glad she does!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud quite a few times.

Any additional comments?

The only bad part about the book was that it ended. I am really looking forward to the next one and I don't know if I can wait until OCTOBER! :(

Which character – as performed by Lorelei King – was your favorite?

Lorieli, she is whitty, smart, loveable, selfless and delicate.

FANTASTIC.

I bought this series when it first came and I am listening to the books again. I am glad I bought this series. Darynda Jones is an excellent wrter. I like the plot very much. Very intriguing and very action packed all the way. I like the characters which were very well narrated and I hope there will be more books on this type of genre from Ms Jones.

Another great series from a Great Author

When you have a great and funny author and great narrator you get a fantastic result.
This what you get when Darynda Jones and Lorelei King give you a book to enjoy. Darynda is a great author in my opinion for many many reasons, especially her imagination and her sense of humor... i laugh so many times with every book she makes and thats one of the main things that makes her book great. and when you bring Lorelei to read these books, you can feel how she really brings these characters to life which is amazing!!!

Now the book and this series, when i started reading this series i was not that confident that it was going to be a good one, but then i thought i;ll take a chance and have a listen.. and damn i finished the first book in the first day i got it.... But this book is really good, you have everything established and you keep on thinking whats going on and what will happen... and you laugh through the whole book ... What more do you want other than that!!!!

Another good book with a good plot and enjoyable characters, can't wait to see Darynda Jones's next books.. she really has her special way to brighten your day.

P.S.

If you didn't check Darynda Jones's other series... Then YOU HAVE TO, go check "Charley Davidson" series. Its damn great!!!!

cheers.

A Good Read (Listen)

As a huge fan of the Charlie Davidson series I was excited to hear that there was a trilogy from Darynda Jones! This book doesn’t hold a flame to the series but I imagine it’s hard to reproduce. I did enjoy the book and will be starting book 3 right after this review. It’s like this, a bacon cheeseburger is delicious but it’s not a porter house and that’s what I’m used to from Jones. All in all, I’d give this book a solid B. If I hadn’t read the other series first I think I’d like this one more. The ending definitely left me ready for more!
