Publisher's Summary

I should have known that my first official date with Logan Quinn was destined to end in disaster. If we’d gotten into a swordfight, or been ambushed by Reapers, I’d have been more prepared. But getting arrested mid-sip at the local coffee hangout? I didn’t see that one coming. I’ve been accused of purposely helping the Reapers free Loki from his prison - and the person leading the charge against me is Linus Quinn, Logan’s dad. The worst part is that pretty much everyone at Mythos Academy thinks I’m guilty. If I’m going to get out of this mess alive, I’ll have to do it myself....

Its Hard To Predict Whats Next In This Series!!!

I am really impressed with this series. Its a bit hard to predict what will happen in these books, specially the last 2. CrimsonFrost started normally as all of us expected after the ending of the previous book. but then suddenly to many events happen and weird things come to life, the world over our Frost girl changed upside-down and shacked...

Crimson Frost brought several new characters, and here you learn more about Logan's past, family, and his future too.

My feeling during this book was surprised, angry, and amazed of all the events, I can't wait to see what kind of surprises we will get from the next book "Midnight Frost"

A really good series and highly recommended.

The Gypsy takes the lead!

Gwen Frost is in a heap of trouble from the Protectorate, now that she has had a hand in releasing Loki. Unbeknownst to her, Gwen has been arrested for crimes against Mythos. Now that another chaos war is imminent, Gwen must find a way to find out who is behind her arrest and what their plans are. How is Gwen suppose to do all this while under house arrest? Wait and see...

Gwen Frost is the newest member of Mythos Academy, descending from a Gypsy Clan that has been chosen by the Goddess Nike to be her champion. Yeah, Yeah, we all know this. But do we? What proof can Gwen provide to back up her story? The new predicament Gwen has gotten herself in to enables the story to add new and exciting characters to Mythos! The Protectorate, a group of individuals chosen to serve and protect their people , serving as judge, jury and executioner as well. Logan Quinn's (Gwen's new Spartan bf) father, Linus, is head of the group, along with his wife and Logan's step-mother Agrona, (please excuse misspellings, I listened to the audiobook). The life long conflict between Logan and Linus heat up by Gwen's arrest, and Logan never backs down from standing by her side, (awe, what a guy!). Alexa (again, could be wrong on spelling) is also a newcomer to the story line. He is strapped with the duty of escorting Gwen everywhere she goes, not for her protection, but to make sure she doesn't flee and kill again. With all the students, for the exception of her good friends, Kenzi, Oliver, Daphne, Carson, and boyfriend Logan, against her, Gwen must keep it together!

Now all of what I have revealed so far should not be news to you IF you have been reading the series. The current story line opens up another door, peels another layer of the already fantastic tale of these mythological beings. I loved the new additions to this story. How the story creates this amazing connection between existing and new characters is flawless. Very believable, and I was sucked right in! Linus' outward hatred for Gwen, Alexa's disregard for Gwen's safety, along with Grandma Frosts prediction of Gwen's future was so heart breaking. Who ever thought that fighting against an evil God like Loki and his reaper minions would be this hard?! And as the story escalates, the plot twist stabs you right where it hurts! I never saw it coming until it was too late. I'm not sure the why's on my time frame from listening to the last book since I loved it so much, but damn, what the hell was I thinking! Mythos Academy is one of the best YA Urban Fantasy books out there right now. You are a fool to not one click this bad girl right now!

Narrator Review

Tara Sands is the chosen one. I was very impressed with Tara's accents! Her tone for Gwen is spot on what I think she would sound like, and the voices she has created for each character is unique, and very identifiable for those people. Tara's voice comes over very well, and tells the story like a pro. Great job Tara, I have given you 5 Stars!

getting better

this one was going to be the very last I bought if Gwen continued to be as dense as she had in the earlier ones but she actually smartens up a bit and doesn't ignore obvious clues so I believe I will be sucked into one more volume and see if the author continues to improve

The game has changed!

Read/Listened for Fun (Library/Audible)
Overall Rating: 4.25
Story Rating: 4.00
Character Rating: 4.50

Audio Rating: 3.50 (not part of the overall rating)

First Thoughts when Finished: Nothing like a little arrest to make you realize that the game has stepped up to "no turning back now"!

Story Thoughts: Poor Gwen! The girl just can't catch a break even when on her very first date with a hot Spartan. Heck, even Logan needs a break because not only is it his dad doing the arresting but he has to relive some old family trama. Overall, Crimson Frost had political intrigue, family issues, and growing pains for Gwen and Logan. This was a game changer in their relationship and also how the world at large plays into the fight. Needless to say, it was a nail biter.

Character Thoughts: I like Gwen! She is spunky, smart, and just downright original. I also really like Logan. He is smart, strong, and not perfect. For some reason it is always important that the leads be flawed. I really like the adults (Grandma, Teachers) in Crimson Frost. They aren't absent or uncaring. They show up! They are there! They are adults. Granted these kids are being taught to fight and take on above their age situations so the adults act accordingly but they are there. Gwen's circle of friends are a big reason why Gwen is able to be kick ass. They have her back and I think a new one made the circle this time. Which is good because I liked him. The characters are what make this series shine!

Audio Thoughts:

Narrated By Tara Sands / Release Date: 12-24-12

I liked Tara Sands narration of this series. She does a great job with Gwen and nails her spunk! The boys voices are less done well but her cadence works for them. This one had more of the guys so the audio rating is lower than normal. Overall this is one of those series that I half read/half listen too but the audio overall works for me.

Final Thoughts: Next one please!
