Publisher's summary

Crater Trueblood has to rescue his ex-girlfriend... and the entire human race. Maria Medaris - gorgeous, powerful, and high-maintenance - is the 21-year-old matriarch of the most powerful family on the moon. When she is kidnapped by green-lipped, gene-splicing scientists, Maria's only hope turns out to be the very man she once spurned: Crater Trueblood. Crater and the Lunar Rescue Company must rescue Maria before she joins forces with the lunatics who have taken her hostage and aim to make her queen. Turns out more than Maria is at stake: The planet Earth, majestically rising over the lunar horizon, is in the crosshairs of an asteroid engineered by Maria's abductors. If Crater can't stop it, all humanity on Earth will be destroyed. The fate of two worlds hangs in the balance... and the clock is ticking.

Fun and Plausible -Loved the ending

I really appreciated how the author wove a sci-fi tale with action, political intrigue, a hero with good character, plausible technology and a romantic triangle that turned out great in the end. Being a HAM myself , I appreciated the thumbs up to amateur radio operators in the last chapter. Plus, I very much appreciate the references, in the end, to a real life ancient text that exudes great hope for a reborn or restored earth "

Pretty good conclusion to the trilogy

This was probably my least favorite story in the Helium 3 trilogy. The action seemed rushed and you know Crater was going to save the day with some superhuman feat of engineering. In the end even his problem solving didn't seem as spectacular as in the previous novels. After the cliffhanger of book 2, the love story just sort of felt awkward. Plot twist at the end was unexpected.
Overall it was entertaining but not quite to the level of the previous books.
The narrator performed the same voices as the previous books from what I remember. They didn't feel as natural as what I remembered though. Particularly Crater seemed whinny and annoying. Maybe he was like that in the other books but he was doing more heroic things or was in deeper peril so I didn't notice.
