Publisher's summary

Hated the voices…

The narrator was great! Everyone else creeped me out because they all sounded like they had saliva coming out of their mouths!

Merveilleux classique

Some challenges for French learners

I was excited to read and listen to the book as Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is one of my favorite movies. Sometimes the audio is difficult to follow along with. Some of the voices used for characters—while it adds to the charm—are difficult to make out coherently. The text is also different. At first, there was not a big difference, simple words like chocolate bar were different in the audio than in the text (I imagine one is a French Canadian translation, the other is French). But there was one very long particular passage that confused me. Furthermore, most of the time, phrases like "he said" are omitted. I do enjoy the recording for the most part, however; It does feel like a performance rather than a reading!

Good story, bad recording

The recording is of questionable quality, but the story is great. The audio levels need to be constantly adjusted, either too low, unintelligible or suddenly too loud.
