Publisher's Summary

A charmed life can tumble down in an avalanche of problems.

Bobby Tremain's the first in his family to attend college, also the first to see snow. A massive magical blizzard makes this not-so-average bear want to sleep all winter, but he needs to pass exams or risk flunking out of Providence Paranormal College.

Lynn Frampton's got a brain of epic proportions and an even smarter mouth. She went to college on the other side of the country to escape the town where everybody knows and fears her brain. At college, Lynn's barely able to make friends, let alone influence people. At least she's at the top of her class.

Bobby needs Lynn's help to stay awake and pass his exam. She might just need his companionship, too. Can Lynn and Bobby find new hope together or will their failures send them both packing home?

Let this introductory novella transport you to Providence Paranormal College. Extrahumans of all types abound on this urban campus on the East Side of Providence, Rhode Island. This Ivy-League college recently opened its doors to anyone with enough talent. The Admissions Department at PPC enrolls humans with extraordinary grades, the magically and psychically inclined, vampires, werewolves, changelings, and even magic shifters like dragons and Kelpies. Come take a tour! If you like YA and NA paranormal romance or urban fantasy with strong romantic subplots, you'll feel right at home here.

Cute Teen Paranormal Fantasy

I’m young at heart and love teen paranormal romances. One of my favorite genres actually. This a light fairly short story with interesting characters. I would have loved it even more if the story was longer with more character development and world building. But I’m sure the author will be doing some more world building in the next books.

The narration was excellent and brought the story to life.

This is a great start to a teen fantasy/Paranormal series. The story is very clean and moves at a good pace. The author was very creative with the story line and did an excellent job writing this fun book. I’m looking forward to the next book in this new series.

Great start to series!

Loved listening to this! Loved the world and the variety of characters. I also liked the college setting and the element of mystery. I loved Bobby and Lynn’s story and can’t wait to see where the series goes next. Great narrator too! Fun Paranormal Romance

Overall I enjoyed this introductory novella but I found the two main characters, Bobby and Lynn, to be a little boring. Several of the secondary characters sounded more interesting and I assume some of them will be featured in upcoming books in the series. My favorite part of the story was the ghost helpers and I'd definitely love to have a few of those around my house. The narration was very good and she handled both genders and the different accents quite well. This was a good start to the series and I look forward to the next installment.

OK

When I read the description I thought I have to get my hands on it. However, I did found it slow going at the beginning and I couldn't get into it. But it does pick up as the book progress.
I found the plot not to be taxing on the brain and predictable.
YA might like this more then I did. I have listened to the next book in the series and I liked it bit more then this one.

Not my favorite

I knew going in this was geared towards a younger audience, but still had a hard time getting into it. I found I was glad it was short. The narration, though, was very well done.

Intro novella that bearly makes the mark

Perhaps it's because this is a novella and the author didn't have enough time to really mesh out a more in depth story, or perhaps I just expected more, but I didn't LOVE this novella. Knowing that this is going to be a series involving the paranormal, etc. I was hoping for a more interesting world, being a fan of Vampire Academy and other series of those sorts. It was a decent intro into the world of PPC (Providence Paranormal College) and I'm currently listening to the next story, Fangs for the Memories, a full sized novel, which is seeming to be a more solid story so far. This one, well, I didn't really get much into it until the end. Lynn was a somewhat unlikable character in the beginning, what with her attitude and Bobby, well, he seemed to be a somewhat one-dimensional character. I'm hoping that this is a one-off though, as the reviews for the next novel are much higher than this one so far.

I would have liked to have seen this story fleshed out a bit more and perhaps being written as a full length novel, learning more about the characters and having a more involved plot. I think as this series continues, fans of the series will want to listen to this intro novella regardless. The narration was good and fitting of a younger, college aged person. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

I Could Bearly Finish The Book

The book is like a one trick pony, the same theme (a bear that could not stay awake) is repeated over and over. It would have made a much better short story. The narration was very good. .I was given a free copy of the book for an honest review.
