One of the most important and helpful books you’ll ever read

I wish this book had been written when I had my first child! However it is still so helpful and so needed being a mom of a 13 & 9 year old. If I could recommend any book to parents, this would be the one. Sometimes a book will fully explain the concept and reason behind its topic but completely leave our practical application and examples. Mrs. Beeke left no stone unturned, this book is rich and lacks nothing.

Excellent Book

This was an absolutely wonderful, balanced approach to teaching our children to work. Couldn’t recommend this book more.

Encouraging and thoughtful read

I really appreciated all of the scriptural parallels for work and encouragements to help them to see work as normal and necessary and not begrudging. It helped me with my own mindset as well 😅

Strong topic with good tips but unpleasant narrator

The author made some good points throughout the book and there were some things that were convicting and helpful. She takes a stronger approach on making kids do a larger amount of work than I would, but she does try to do it in love. It’s a strong topic for such a long book.

I struggled the most with the narrator. She speaks more like a harsh news broadcast. Therefore. coupled with the unpleasant theme of the book, it became both difficult and even depressing to listen to the end. Her tone was very demeaning. Unfortunately, I most likely will not listen to any other books by this narrator.
