Not my cup of tea

Overall just wasn’t my cup of tea (pun intended) but interesting concept. I also didn’t love the narration, it felt a bit silly and over the top.

Good from first page

Could not put this down. Love the mix of paranormal and historical fiction. Unexpected ending, but it was better than I imagined

Mysterious creature!

Great narration, brought the story to life! A sort of cozy horror/gothic, really just a vibe fest, with a touch of vampires.

A fun take on a vampire

I don't normally read much in the way of vampire content, but decided to try this one as audible had suggested. Overall I did enjoy the book plot wise. I like the way they logic out the elements and vampires being a being that's out of balance.
One thing I wish they did different is how the voice actors voiced the lines. The way they did it was, a lady narrator for Mina's pov and a males voice for the ML (male lead, because i don't know how to spell his name). The thing i wish to be different, was that the ml/fl always voiced their own lines. Hearing the gruff ml talk in a high pitched for mina really broke the immersion. and some of the more intimate scenes would have been much nicer 😉 with his proper deep voice.
Tldr: a good read about a lonely lady and a lonely vampire

Dark, creepy, and atmospheric

Ah, yes. This story is what I needed from Ms Fisher. Dark, creepy, slow burn, atmospheric re-telling. And I love her name dropping of Jane Rochester along with a happy ending tied up with a bow 🥰
