Enlightening story!

I wanted to hear the "roots" of the Tarzan mythos and this dud not disappont! The narrator took some getting used to. It felt like someone's dad who had flunked out if Harvard, but finished at Brown, had had a few Manhattans and was telling a bedtime story.

Like being a kid again.

I am a Edgar Rice Bourghs fan. I totally enjoyed hearing this story rather than reading it or watching a movie. I could get into the feel of story more and really loved it.

The ending is very abruptl

But I guess Burroughs understood the idea of a sequel.
After all these years of Tarzan movies and TV shows, it was nice to read the original.
Good story. Poor narrator.

Outstanding story, terrible performance

The story is classic every American should read. Unfortunately, the reader was awful. His voice was entirely too deep and without proper inflection between characters. I had to turn down the bass in my stereo to properly hear the reader. The reader poorly read the sentences as though it was his first time reading the story.

The story is cool, the Narrator it was atrocious

I've always wanted to read this book, but never found the time. It is not what you see in the movies. There's a lot of fun listening to it, seeing the differences of what I've seen before. I can see how this became such a popular series back in the day.

Warning: Alan Munro is a horrid narrator pausing at the wrong times, his accents are terrible, he sounds like a computer more than a person. Get a different version of this. Without him being the narrator!
You have been warned! This is my second book with him, they're both this bad, and I've read both of the books!

Readike a once tgru

The reader reads like it's the first time he has seen the text and rolls right over obvious errors of inflection.

Ageless

I had read this book as a teenager and was captured in its pages. Although listening to it on audio did not bring back the same images I remember as a ten, I still couldn't put it down. lol

Narration is choppy but ok.

All in a good read for the price. Production quality suffered from poor editing, choppy and broken at times.

Great story. Wonderful details.

We listened to this as a family. We could not turn it off. It made the long car rides so enjoyable.
