Publisher's Summary

Can the past ever stay dead?

I've escaped the hunters guild twice. Which begs the question why I'm going back now. At least this time, I have my vampires with me, the men who are proving to be more than just allies. My name is Ashryn Barker, and I'm going to be your downfall.

Tarnished Illusions is a low-heat urban fantasy reverse harem and the final book of the completed Ashryn Barker trilogy. Please be aware that some scenes may trigger listeners sensitive to violence.

That’s it?

Honestly all 3 books could be put together in a single standalone book. I was really kinda disappointed with how this series ended. It just left you hanging. No epilogue. No steam. It felt like there should be more.

Epic ending

This is the final book in the Ashryn Barker trilogy and I am sad to see the end of this story. It was the perfect ending to the drama and excitement filled series. Ashryn had to work for her happy ending but she managed to get it with her four guys. I truly enjoyed the narrator as she makes all the voices easily recognizable.

THE HUNTER AND THE VAMPIRES.

Very entertaining story in this series of three.
Well described fight scenes that had me feeling the anticipation and almost moving with Ashryn and cautiously peering around corners checking for the all clear. Almost horrifying findind out where the guild gets its members from. The purpose of the guild itself comes to light in book one but it appears there is more to the story that anyone knows.
The so called enemy certainly has some man candy that will sweeten the pot after she solves the mystery of this mission.
Charlotte Storm continues that tough girl narration with flying colours and makes all the other voices easily discernable, she's a pleasure to listen to.

The final chapter

I am sad to see the end of Ashryn’s tale. I honestly wish there was more. Ashryn and her vamps move to take down the Guild. Can Ashryn follow through with ending the life she was raised in. Will all her vampires accept her. Charlotte Storm does a great job with the narration. Really really wish there was more.

Third time lucky

Ashryn's returning to the Guild for a third time with her men, hoping to finally free herself and the other hunters from their lives of service to a corrupt and shadowy organisation. I really enjoyed this book, it ended the trilogy on a high point and I do love a happy ending and showed Ashrynn growing into a more emotional, feeling person, the narrator Charlotte Storm was good.

Final book in the trilogy

I enjoyed this story, it has a good ending for Ashryn. I did get extremely frustrated with all the internal monologues Ashryn seemed to have, even more so when she was in the middle of a mission. I quite happily scan read most of them just to get to the action parts. Far too many.
Ashryn went from a stone-hearted hunter to a soft-hearted vampire determined to free the guild.
The overall story was good.
The overall narration was good, she nailed Ashryn but I struggled to know when she was thinking and when she was speaking. I also couldn't tell when different characters were talking as they mostly sounded the same.
