Publisher's summary

How do you go on living when you're already dead?

The world has ended, yet a few places still cling to life, dragging out their final, dwindling moments until the last second. The United Kingdom is one of those places still left alive, but it is only a matter of time before it too is wiped from the face of the earth.

The Tar is coming, covering every inch of the globe. There is no escape.

It means the clock is ticking for Finn, who needs to find the monster that murdered his sister. The world might be over, but vengeance never dies.

By best-selling author, Iain Rob Wright, comes an apocalypse like no other. Follow a broken brother's vengeance as he seeks to kill a man who is already dead.

Glad I invested in this book

Honestly, I was taken back by going from the beginning of a disaster, the creation of stranglets as far as I can tell, to right before the world ends. I was thinking the story would be the slow consumption of earth and the terror of it all. Maybe I should just trust good authors. It was quite outstanding, character driven story. I couldn't understand the motive of the main character, I would be angry if was in his shoes but I just did not understand his motivation. It took a few starts before I just followed along on the main character's "journey".

No spoilers, Everything I have mentioned happens in the beginning. The story plays out in ways I couldn't have predicted. It was really a good ride. The ending was really warm for a "let's face it, if no one figured out how to undo the problem by now, the world is over, a goner, goodbye blue marble" sort of way. Still, this story concludes with a purpose.

Hope you enjoy the book.

British end times

Good story line with an unexpected twist; I thought this was part of the Hell on Earth series, but it didn’t tie in. It’s possible it might... going on to Extinction to find out.

Beware the Tar

A nice sweet and short horror novel. Love the direction the story went from the start of the tar taking over to a man looking for redemption. On to book 3.

Revenge at the end of the world

The end of the world starts as a science experiment gone wrong. A few people become better versions of themselves, most do not. A brother tries to avenge the murder of his sister before time runs out, can he? No spoilers here. It’s a well written story that is thought provoking. Definitely worth a read
