Publisher's summary

There’s a thin line between hate and tolerance, and it seems to sit squarely between us. Lola Bell could easily bring an army of men to their knees, as long as she never opened her mouth. She’s soft in too many ways. A people-pleaser who goes the extra mile. Some might call her an easy target. In short, she has all of the qualities that I despise. But when it comes to me, she doesn’t hesitate to fling her poison arrows my way. She has every right to her feelings. Over the years, I’ve given her plenty of ammo. Yeah, I hate Lola. But it doesn’t stop me from wanting her too. When she makes me a proposition I can’t refuse, there’s just one problem. She tastes so f*cking sweet. So f*cking good. So f*cking mine.

Love this story

This book is a must read, the narrator's are amazing, the book kept me on the edge of my set, trying to see which one would win the battle between them.

Another great story by A. Zavarelli.

Wow! Daire and LB’s journey is tumultuous and full of angst. Throw in some dominance and it makes it hard to stop listening. Grabs you from the start and holds you until the end. Narration is spot on and addicting. Love Tracy Marks and Aaron Sherlock. A must listen.

Adrian is your typical control freak and is grumpy but yet very sucessful CEO. Then you will have lola who is a plain jane , just a normal girl looking for love but has a ton of bad luck along the way. Book is filled with lies, secrets from the past. A cute romance story! i was given a copy of this audiobook for free by my request and voluntarily left this review !

Zavarelli you rock

I have only listened to zavarellis books done by Tracy Marks. And i have said before that she does not need a male co narrator to performe the books. But Aaron you are welcome onbord the zavarelli team. If i could give one more star to performence i would. You guys did good.
This book is not the darkest book by zavarelli. But this just proves that she can do other things then dark. She can also write a amazing story of two people who loves so much, but life just got in the way and not so nice people mettling in your life. Just to make you lonly and sad and bitter. And make you put yourself 2. and dont listen to your own feelings.
If only Lola and Daire put them self first. Not just now but back then when it all went wrong. Then they might have a chance. if they can figure out there feelings.
I dont think zavarelli can make a book that i dont like. She makes Them just as dark as i love them. That i feel like, sometimes she makes them just for me.

Sweet & sinful

I think sweet and sinful are the perfect words to sum up this book. Although A Zavarelli is known for dark, this book is not dark. It’s angsty and lovely and emotional and heated. I truly enjoyed it.

Aaron Shedlock made for a perfect Dare. So incredibly confident and cocky, with this whole emotional and sweet side that was limited to his internal dialogue that Aaron made reality.

Tracy Marks was brilliant, as she always is for A Zavarelli characters. It’s almost as though they are written for her inflection and tone. Although I enjoy Tracy in all that she does, Zavarelli books are especially a favorite of mine.

emotional mess

This is another one of the awesome Ms. Zavarelli's signature 'emotional mess that turns ok with a HEA to die for' story.
The journey Lola and Adrian embark on is hard and emotional, quite a few twist are thrown in that kept me engaged. Frustrated is a mild word how these two can make the reader, they could have a good thing but are intent on making each other lives miserable. It takes an almost tragedy to get them finally to wake up. These two emotionally damaged souls go thru the wringer before they get their HEA, but I wasn't sure until the end.

This is the second book I listened to narrated by both Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock. Ms. Marks is one of my top 5 narrators and I listened to most of her audios, love her voice. Mr. Shedlock is quickly becoming a favourite of mine, his voice is perfect for Adrian and he does really good female voices.

Lots of Secrets and Great Narration.

For those of you familiar with A. Zavarelli this is a much lighter book of hers without her dark romance undertones...so if you are looking for a dark romance this isn't one of those books. However this books still has all the other qualities that she writes with so don't be afraid to give it a try anyway.

Daire and Lola's love story isn't one that is typical and has a complicated past full of lies, secrets and emotions. It draws you in as a reader and makes you want to cry one moment, scream another and then love them another. The characters are very well developed and as usual the writing is amazing.

The narration team of Tracy and Aaron was a perfect match. Aaron was on par for Daire and his darker, cocky side. Tracy was also spot on with her performance as Lola. She brought emotion to her character and her inflections and tones are always done so well. These two know how to narrate books in a way that you feel the emotions along with them and you would think the books are written with them in mind.

4.5 Stars Overall!

4.5 STARS
This was my first book from this author and I definitely won't hesitate to go back for more. There is an abundance of angst, heat & mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat. Adrian Dare is a perfectly flawed "Alpha-hole" with a love/hate relationship with his frenemy, Lola. I also give him a rating of "expert" for his dirty talk. It's good enough to make a hooker blush. Despite the fact their personalities mix about as well as fire and ice, there are still plenty of sparks flying. This story is going to take you on a journey filled with frustration and heartache amidst plenty of steam. Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock do a great job of voicing these dynamics characters. They hit all the sweet spots and punched me right in the feels. I'm eager to hear more from this duo!

Highly recommend

I received this in exchange for an honest review. This is not my first Zavarelli, but it is my first audio from her list. I very much enjoyed the story line and the characters. The voices chosen very much helped make this story so much more visual for me as it played out in my head while listening. I very much enjoyed it and would recommend to friends.

Exciting and Intoxicating Romance!

There is a fine line between love and hate and Lola is about to cross that line with Daire. They have a long, heartbreaking, and complicated history. Lola doesn't understand why Daire insists on being in her life when they both hate each other. Daire is successful, confident and a philanderer. So when Lola wants to find a good man to share her life, she asks him to teach her how to be seductive. Daire realizes that he finally has his chance to prove to Lola that he is not the loathsome man he once was and will do whatever it takes to make her his. This story is multifaceted with complex characters that morph and grow. Their journey is filled with heartbreak, guilt, closely guarded secrets, hope, desire, and fiery passion.
Narrators Tracy Marks, and Aaron Shedlock were superb at bringing these complicated characters to life. Their interpretations of Lola and Daire allowed us to see them with empathy and understanding.
The ending to this exciting and intoxicating romance is totally worth the journey.
