Publisher's summary

In the third unforgettable book by New York Times best seller Emma Chase, Matthew Fisher - the best friend of Drew Evans from Tangled and Twisted - wants to settle down, but he'll have to overcome the mistrust of the colorful and unique Dee Dee Warren.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: Girl meets player, they fall in love, player changes his ways. It’s a good story. But it’s not our story. Ours is a lot more colorful. < /p>

When I met Dee, I knew right away that she was special. When she met me, she thought I was anything but special - I was exactly like every other guy who’d screwed her over and let her down. It took some time to convince her otherwise, but it turns out I can make a convincing argument when sex is at stake.

You might know where this story’s headed. But the best part isn't where we ended up.

It’s how we got there.

As good as the First!

Where does Tamed rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's a very solid "romantic comedy" listen. This book is as good as the first in the series. I loved book 1 tangled but was disappointed by the follow up story. Because book 2 was a bit of a bore I didn't plan on downloading book 3, but a friend told me it was more similar to book 1. I am so glad I did download tamed - this is a very entertaining read. Emma Chase really finds her stride using the male POV. It's humerous, smart and fun. I hope she puts more male POV stories out there, cause I for one am a fan.

Any additional comments?

I grinned like a loon through the whole book!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes

Who was your favorite character and why?

Matthew!!! He's so freakin' perfect, broken, romantic and ......... OMG just, just, just..... no words....I have no words.

What about Deacon Lee’s performance did you like?

What was not to like?? He brought humor and sexiness to Matthew's POV.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

All of it but especially the end......Vegas baby!!!

Any additional comments?

So I downloaded the audio version of Tamed this afternoon. It's not a long book but I totally love me some Emma Chase and gobble anything up by her because well, her male POV books are the Shyt! I loved me some Tangled and so when Tamed came out, I thought, I gotta get me some more Drew!! But guess what, this one isn't Drew but his BFF Matthew. Normally when a series spins off with another character, it's either totally not the same as the original and sometimes ruins the series or it adds much, much more to the world and characters that the author has created. Guess what, Tamed did just that! I didn't think Drew could be topped but I think I've fallen a bit in love with Matthew. In Tangled, we know Matthew as Drew's BFF and later we learn that he's dating Kate's BFF, Dee as well. Their story is more on the periphery of Tangled until we get a novella called Holy Frigging Matrimony in which we find out that Matthew is married. It's like WTF!!! So guess what, Tamed now fills in the gaps. It starts and parallels Tangled. We get to read about the whole gang in Tamed and see as Drew is beginning to court Kate and we get to see how Matthew and Dee's relationship skyrocket to marriage. It's a wonderful read and full of all the male POV, macheesmo, dating/relationship advice that we loved in Tangled but this one is also full of heart and romance as well. I grinned like a loon though the whole book and I think you will too! Tame your inner Negative Nancy to find true love with Matthew! Can be read as a stand alone but is enjoyed more as part of the series.

Drew & Kate's Sidekicks Matthew & DeeDee (Dolores)

There Are Two Books In The Series AFTER THIS. My Review WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS!!

Drew & Kate's Sidekicks Matthew & Dee Dee (Dolores) ALMOST as great...only ALMOST because Drew & Kate -in Tangled- are perfection!

Emma Chase continues with her wonderful writing. Tamed is a hilarious, delightful, wonderful, humorous addition to the Tangled series about Drew and Kate. Emma takes this occasion to focus on Matthew Fisher – Drew's best friend – and Dolores "Dee Dee" and their instant attraction.

As with the other books in the series, it is great to hear the inner workings of a man's thoughts. In this case Matthew. He and Dolores meet as they are mutual friends with Drew and Kate. There is instant attraction and both are comfortable with a no strings attached, one night stand. However, it becomes more than that for both of them.

As with my other reviews, I encourage guys to listen to it. They will appreciate all of the raunchiness and maybe pick up a hint or two about how to involve yourself with women.

Deacon Lee is great, as he is for the rest of the series. His men sound like men and women sound like women.

It is a great series and I highly recommend it.

Notes: Mature themes and STRONG language

If I were to rate it on the movie system, it would definitely be rated R, because of the notes I suggested up above.

I enjoy leaving reviews, as I know that I read them the reviews of others before I purchase a book. If you found my review helpful in your decision about this book, would you please select yes directly below this paragraph? Thank you so much.

Please consider "following me" here on Audible.com. I purchased a lot of books by authors that I am faithful to. I also have the opportunity to review books in all genres, many that I would not pick up on my own. I have been pleasantly surprised by new authors and narrators. Thanks!

PLEASANT SURPRISE IN THE SERIES...

This was a pleasant surprise! Dee and Matthew weren't even on my radar--they were like, semi-interesting sidekicks in Tangled/Twisted, but, surprisingly, Tamed was really enjoyable! Matthew's no Drew, but he kept my interest peaked; and Dee, well she's in a category all her own--she was hilarious. The story moves pretty quickly, boy meets girl, boy calls girl, boy and girl suddenly are locked at the lips and a couple weeks later...'Audible hopes you've enjoyed your story', basically. If there was a negative, it's that there were moments where I felt like the transitions within conversations or moments within the relationship weren't smooth and/or logical. It IS fiction, so I can cut the author some slack.

Similar to the other stories in the series, this one was told from the man's perspective--which is quickly becoming a favorite vantage point for me; It was a nice change to read/listen to a story where the guy wasn't a total douchebag that has an epiphany, but, is a man that realized early on what he wanted and the result, is a the romantic short - TAMED. This one made me laugh out loud, and fall in love with love. Highly recommended if you enjoyed Tangled.

Fun!

This was a fun story that had me laughing out loud several times (not as much as Tangled).

I preferred Sebastian York as the narrator.. Deacon Lee did not do as good a job with the female characters (especially Mackenzie)

Carries on in the "Tangled" tradition

Any additional comments?

First let me point out, that Mackenzie is great in this book as in the first. She's got a small part, but I love that little girl! At first, I wasn't crazy about the narrator's voice (thought he sounded a little like Paul Lynde), but I warmed to him as he made the story come alive for me. Also, I liked the twist of the woman basically wanting the one-night stand and the guy wanting more. I also like that it's a relatively short story. I tend to listen to the ones I like over and over again. This is a definite repeat listen!

Not impressed with this one...

I am an Emma Chase fan, but found this book to be painfully slow. Weak storyline, humor was just OK and the narrator wasn't very convincing. I am obviously against the grain compared to most of these reviews. I'm listening to the series in order, but if I would have listened to this book first, I probably wouldn't have bothered with the others.

Just not my type of reading/listening entertainment. This was a complete waste of my time. I couldn't even finish listening.

Aggressively macho attitude gets really irritating

The intro assures the listener that the language won't be politically correct, and the potential buyer should take that warning seriously. Although the guy comes around and falls in love, there is a huge emphasis on guys being pussy-whipped etc.
