Story
Just consider the tale of the family beset upon by a strange gnome-like entity in Southern California. There is no apparent rhyme or reason as to why these strange creatures may enter into our lives, but when they do, the ball is in their court, and they deliver their bizarre narrative strictly on their own terms. We didn't know that hidden realms of microbes, bacteria and viruses existed in direct concert with our daily life, until we invented the microscope. Perhaps something similar could be said about these bizarre intrusions.

Story
An army of monsters walks among us, hidden in plain sight. They're fast. They're strong. They're unrelenting. And they only want one thing: The shitty gas station at the edge of town. Coming as a surprise to absolutely no one, Jack - night-shift clerk and local crazy person - has found himself neck-deep in the middle of yet another world-ending terror. And this time around, nobody can be trusted. Not that tough-as-nails cop who probably knows a lot more than she's letting on. Not the adorkable new employee who might be something far less innocent than she appears.

She wakes to a dim glow provided by her Kindle's screen, thankful that she had fallen asleep while reading again. The power has gone out, the world outside her window is eerily dark and silent. What scares you? What wakes you up at night? What makes you afraid of the dark? These are questions that can have many different answers. Maybe it's that disturbing noise you hear in the hallway every night, as soon as you turn the lights out, but every time you go to see what it is, nothing's there. Or maybe you're someone who is rarely afraid. Maybe you think you've heard it all, and scary movies don't scare you anymore. Ghosts and poltergeists are only found in Hollywood studios, and nothing like that would ever happen to you.

About SCP Foundation
Mankind in its present state has been around for a quarter of a million years, yet only the last 4,000 have been of any significance.
So, what did we do for nearly 250,000 years? We huddled in caves and around small fires, fearful of the things that we didn't understand. It was more than explaining why the sun came up; it was the mystery of enormous birds with heads of men and rocks that came to life. So we called them "gods" and "demons", begged them to spare us, and prayed for salvation.
In time, their numbers dwindled and ours rose. The world began to make more sense when there were fewer things to fear, yet the unexplained can never truly go away, as if the universe demands the absurd and impossible.
Mankind must not go back to hiding in fear. No one else will protect us, and we must stand up for ourselves.
While the rest of mankind dwells in the light, we must stand in the darkness to fight it, contain it, and shield it from the eyes of the public, so that others may live in a sane and normal world.

Tales Of SCP
These 5 stories were okay, my favorite was Illumination, I believe it was the 2nd story, it was taken during World War 1, the rest of the stories were just mediocre in my opinion. I received this audiobook for free at my request and I am giving my voluntary unbiased review. The narrating done by Jim Masters was good.

interesting selection of scp
This one I got free for an honest review. I love the SCP web and all, now it wasn't a bad compilation of stories, they were very interesting some I haven't even yet read or hear of, I mean there's lots of SCP. In a way I think the narrator didn't make it justice really, maybe that decreased a little on my experience, but it could be a great experience to get to know this stories for the beginners.

Think along the line of BPRD
so this is kind of like BPRD or OCLT with a variety of short tales from the files of SCP. It’s a good collection well narrated with the appropriate accent to lend weight to the tales from the files. So why four not five? I prefer the BPRD and OCLT so if I give them a five I have to drop a notch down and give this one a four. You might switch it around in preference but regardless it’s a good listen in that style of story. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator or publisher
