My God Get a New Narrator

I *love* the Wicked Lovely series so much and couldn’t wait to read more about Irial and Niall, BUT the narrator does such a horrendous job, butchering the names and giving everyone awful voices. Seth sounds like Count Olaf! I suffered through it because I don’t have time to physically sit down and read the book but for the love of God *please* skip this audiobook and read it yourself if you have the time because this narrator just ruins it. I would give my dominant hand for this to be re-recorded.

Good stories but the narration is TERRIBLE

The stories are good. Fills in some stories between the Wicked Lovely series. Plus additional fantasy tales. I particularly liked the ones about the Selkies. The narration however, is horrible. Particularly his portrayal of Seth. If you listen to the Wicked Lovely series on Audible first then try to listen to this it is very obnoxious to hear the way names are butchered and Seth sounds nasally and obnoxious. The voice style just doesn't fit his character at all. I really wish the narrator had taken the time to read the original series before agreeing to narrate this book. Overall the stories and the writing are good. I just wish I had read them instead of wasting time on the audio book.

When the narrator is that bad...

The narrator is awful. He made all the different male characters sound annoying and sleazy. Don’t buy the audio book just read it yourself.

Narration sucks.

I couldn’t even finish listening. It was horrible. I love these books, find a different narrator.

A really bad James Cagney impersonation

That’s what this narrator sounds like! Oh. My. Wow! Did the editor even listen to to this guy? I love these stories and I want to hear this one but the narrators voice is so horrible , I just can’t! My eyesight is so bad that I can only read for short time frames, which is why I have audible. But for this one, I’ll but the book and read slow.

Rudy Sanda is horrible at narrating

While the stories are just as good as we’ve come to expect, especially the last one, the narrator is horrible. The voices are stupid and melodramatic, and not even close to staying in keeping with those already established in prior books. Rudy Sanda really should find another job because narrating is not for him.

Narration is painful

The narrator dose not do this work or the author any favors. If you are going to narrate a book based on a series that is already in audiobooks then you might want to listen to them first. Dismal attempts at characterization. This was painful.

love the stories, dislike the reader

I love the wicked lovely series, both the full books and the novellas or short stories in between. But this guy sounds too nasally and overdramatic with a lot of the voices. Very different from how I have envisioned them or heard other readers read from these stories. It almost seems like he either is over acting out of habit or he did not actually read the stories ahead of time to really immerse himself in to the way that they are.

I love Melissa Marr but the Narrator is horrid

This is one of my favorite book series, and this narrator isn't even saying the names correctly. he has a nasal voice and makes characters sound like cartoons. it's so so bad it detracts from the story. it makes me so disappointed and sad as I love this author so much. it almost feel disrespectful. :(
