Publisher's Summary

Working at a dead-end retail job in the middle of nowhere can be hard. The long hours. The helpless customers. The enormous eldritch horror living deep below the building. As the only full-time employee at the 24-hour gas station at the edge of town, Jack has pretty much seen it all. But when he decides to start an online journal documenting the bizarre day-to-day occurrences, he unwittingly attracts the attention of much more than just a few conspiracy theorists.

With the body count steadily on the rise and a dark, ancient force infecting the dreams of everyone around him, Jack will do everything in his power to stay out of the way and mind his own business. After all, he’s just a gas station clerk. It’s not like he’s getting paid enough to wage battle against the nightmarish aberrations plaguing his community. Besides, he already has his hands full attempting to manage all those mysterious lawn gnomes, the mutant raccoons, and the charming phantom cowboy who lives in the bathroom.

Based on the award-winning creepypasta by GasStationJack, Tales from the Gas Station: Volume One is a love letter to the pioneers of classic horror tailored to a generation that grew up in the era of smartphones and WiFi.

One of my most favorite nosleep series!

I absolutely loved the original Reddit stories and when Jack said he was putting out his book I couldn't wait. I bought the book back when it came out and didn't hesitate to buy the audible version.

Tales from the gas station is honestly a lot like an episode of The Twilight Zone (the old one not the new one, haven't watched that one yet.). The story itself is phenomenal and is 100x better when voiced By MCP. MCP bring life and style to all of the characters and breaths life into the story itself.

I absolutely love this book and I love the narrator too! I would definitely recommend to anyone that has a dark sense of humor (or a sense of humor at all) and to anyone who likes hearing strange stories.

Perfect blend of horror, humor and strangeness.

I have been a huge fan of these stories since Mr. creepy pasta had short versions on his podcast. This is the first book I've bought outright without using credits in years, and got it the day it was released. can't wait for vol. 2 thru infinity.

Narration was frustrating

The narrator’s cadence was aggravating. He’d read quickly, then at a normal pace, and take long unnecessary pauses. It made it hard for me to get into the story.

The stories themselves may have been ok, but I didn’t make it through the first one before giving up due to the narration. Hence one star.

Good listen

My only beef is with the engineering. Many long pauses which should’ve been edited better, also a few double lines as well as the narrator coughing/clearing his throat and tripping over his tongue. Sometimes the sound would get softer then quieter, even during the same sentence. That said, the errors didn’t detract from the overall listen, I’ll be buying volume II

Excellent listen - both book and narrator

My friend suggested that I read this book even though it’s unlike anything I read in general or listen -whatever - but I decided to give it a whirl and I was not disappointed that I did. Between the narrator and the story this was a great listen and I can’t wait (hopefully there is one )but can’t wait for the next sequel .. this was an enjoyable listen and it’s like humor with a little bit of scary but not really scary- if that makes sense .. highly recommended!!!

Odd Thomas meets Monty Python

Interesting story and narration. Sometimes hard to follow, but think that this was actually intentional.

What the

I don’t know why I bought this. The narrator is terrible. He makes mistakes while reading and doesn’t correct them. Surely that’s not allowed. The stop start reading is awful too. I’m a ways into the book and the story is all over the place. I don’t know how this book has so many good reviews. It’s ridiculously bad and the narration is a joke. My six year old child reads better than this.

Cracking stiry

Great on youtube, but even better in full, on Audible. Well read, and without the irritating music.

I love it

I died to listen to the whole book after I listened the shorter version from Mr creepypasta on YouTube and I was so excited to hear it all and I love it. I am even more enthusiastic for the next books.

Great parody-horror stories

I see a lot of people recommend this for people who like David Wong's stories (like me!) and thought I'd give it a go. I got hooked straight away and listened to this whole thing over the course of a couple days.
The narration isn't perfect with some pauses and mistakes, but to be honest I found it kind of fit the character in the story so it didn't bother me.
Looking forward to listening to the other books in this series!

a really fun audiobook.

Tales from the gas station is a wonderfully bizarre story akin to a twilight zone / tales from the crypt episode. It's well written and performed brilliantly by Mr Creepy Pasta. If you like nonsensical creepy comedic fun then I highly recommend. I've already purchased the second one.

Exquisitely random!😂

I’m not gonna give a synopsis, as others are paid to do that. What I will say is, I was creeping slowly, but surely closer to complete audiobook apathy due to simply having read too many books over the years. I was struggling to find anything that would hold my easily distracted attention, let alone my interest. That is until now. I have never had so many laugh out loud moments from one book. This is so completely random, with completely “off the wall” scenarios. Not just coming from left field but from all over the place! I simply could not stop listening to this book. I finished it in one sitting and was left wanting more. This is definitely my favourite new series and I can’t rant about it enough. Suffice to say, I have already purchased the next two books in the series. Who would enjoy this?? Who wouldn’t! Thanks, Jack.😈 *****

So good to hear the full story.

This was awesome. I have been a huge fan of the series through mrcreepypasta. Now to hear the full version finally, and with mrcreepypasta doing his very finest Jack and Jerry lines. Quite simply, just too good ,and I can't wait for volume 2.
