Six of Edgar Allan Poe’s most chilling tales: "The Tell-Tale Heart", "The Black Cat", "The Raven", "The Pit and the Pendulum", "Shadow," and "The Cask of Amontillado". In each of these tales, the author takes us to the brink of madness with his uncanny ability to paint a macabre picture with words. You might never sleep with the lights out again.

Tales by Poe

I really enjoyed this collection of Poes tales narrated by Daniela Acitelli. She did a fine job! It was odd to hear them told by a woman, but it was good. I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.

It's Poe! What's not to love!

This book was given to me free for an honest review.

It's Poe! What's not to Love! The narration is great. Even my 13 year old son listened and he generally zones out my audiobooks when he rides in my care!

A Great Collection!

I love Edgar Allan Poe! This collection has The Tell-Tale Heart, The Black Cat, The Raven, The Pit and the Pendulum, Shadow, and The Cask of Amontillado. Knowing the works, I mainly got this book to see how the narration is done. Daniela Acitelli actually does a good job narrating Poe's words and I don't give this compliment lightly. I normally hear a man's voice reading Poe but Daniela really pulled it off. She helped to bring the stories to life for the listener and made the listening experience enjoyable. If you're a Poe fan then you should check this collection out.

One of the greatest authors ever....

... meets one of the best narrators - and the result is spine-chillingly entertaining. I have liked E. A. Poe's stories for a very long time, but this audiobook is really outstanding and Daniela Acitelli has done a wonderful job when narrating this selection of short stories.

Highly recommended.

This book was given to me for free at my and I provided this voluntary review.

Classic and Macaab!

What can you possibly say about the Classics. It's perfect! Poe has always been an unbelievably talented Author. his attention to details makes his work amazing. He does not have to add Gorey to it and yet develops wonderful McCobb visuals. He's very dark. The narrator did an excellent job with his works. And I enjoyed this book very much. I only wish there was more! This book was provided free of charge in exchange for a fair review of the book... Thank You!

Wonderful Dark Stories brought to life so Well!

Love these stories so much which have been famous for so long. The narrator's voice is perfect for the mood of these stories. I will revisit these again & again.Six great stories that are told so well indeed. I chose to listen to them because a band called Larkin Poe had a great great great grandfather who was Edgar Allen Poe's Cousin. So glad I did. These stories are so very special.

An orchestra of emotion

This is a delightful reading of Poe's dark short stories...Acitelli's telling of these stories effortlessly conveys an orchestra of emotion. Gracefully and artfully done, with no word rushed over, and each carrying dramatic weight. Great stuff.
