Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. It happens to be a really good book. Lots of convoluted psychotic relationships, great character development and interesting plot that is believable.

What does David Doersch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

After listening to three Gabe Quinn books narrated by David Doersch, he IS the voice of Quinn. I hope he will continue to narrate these books.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

THE END! And WOW what an ending it is!

Any additional comments?

I would suggest reading/listening to the first two books prior to this one as the characters build on the previous books and although some background is given on familial and other relationships I can see where this book could get confusing without. The first two are excellent books also, each ending with a cliff hanger that will leave you wanting more. This book however has an ending that leaves you absolutely dumbstruck!! I cannot wait for the next book and can only imagine how Keith Houghton could possibly top this one. Very talented author. I Highly Recommend this book.

Author Keith Houghton has an abnormal brain!

I've now listened to all five Keith Houghton novels including the three in the Gabe Quinn series and the two stand alone novels, No Coming Back and Before You Leap. All five novels are likely best described as psychological thrillers although the Gabe Quinn series are also police procedurals or modern detective. Houghton has the ability to make the unbelievable seem believable and to build suspense to an incredible level. It is a wonderful talent that likely could no be pulled off by authors by "normally wired" brains. I gave four of the five Houghton novels 5 stars, so his writing obviously appeals to me.

Sad it's over

Well, I have read the whole series and loved each book. I cannot wait until the next one, hopefully there will be a next one. I felt like I knew the main character as I would a best friend. This author is very talented, And the narrator that speaks for audible is also talented.

David Doersch is a fabulous narrator. He makes the story come to life. I got all three books in this series and enjoyed them all.

Good follow up book

Good Book with good descriptions and detail. Sometimes felt that the connection of characters were hard to recall.. but good book!

Edge of your seat suspenseful

LOVED this series! Houghton truly caught me by surprise in each book. I also loved how these stories were tied together.

Waiting for Book 4

What did you love best about Taking Liberty?

The narrator breathed life and action into all the scenes in the book, making me feel like I was right there, part of the story. I did enjoy the way the author tied the three books together and left me with anticipation of the next book. I think I had a marathon reading experience with these three books and just could not put them down. I cooked, walked and cleaned while listening, barely paying attention to the tasks at hand! Very good read I think. Lots of twists and turns, the kind of mystery I really enjoy. Another thing that I found impressive was the lack of curse words, there were a few, but very few and the lack of vivid sex scenes. You definitely got the jest of what was going on without spending several paragraphs in description of some magical thing that ultimately had nothing to do with the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Hard to say, Gabe Quinn is the main character, so probably him.

What does David Doersch bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The way he reads the action, full of robust energy and action. In the fight scenarios he reads the action quickly, like it is happening. This makes me almost breathless, participating in that scene.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

The book was definitely enjoyable, I think David Doersch is definitely one of the best readers I've heard for action. As far as all I wanted in one sitting, I cannot wait for book 4!

I liked it!

The characters are well developed. The story has many unexpected twists and turns. It keeps you involved to the very end. I agree the series needs to be read in order to get the most out of each book.

Amazing Again

What can I say? This Gabe Quinn is an outstanding character. He goes through so many ups and downs twists and turns I'm finding that I can't wait to see what life is going to throw at him next. Things are not always what they seem and I love it.

Fantastic! This is the third Gabe Quinn book and like the first two is a great read. Highly recommended!

As twisty as a big bag of twisty things

Unlike many books witch come as part of a series each of the three I have so far read have stayed individual enough to keep me hooked
