Publisher's summary

Her first year away is turning out to be nearly perfect, but one weekend of giving in to heated passion will change everything.

Eighteen-year-old Harper has grown up under the thumb of her career marine father. Ready to live life her own way and to experience things she's only ever heard of from the jarheads in her father's unit, she's on her way to college at San Diego State University.

Thanks to her new roommate, Harper is introduced to a world of parties, gorgeous guys, family, and emotions. She finds herself being torn in two as she quickly falls in love with both her new boyfriend, Brandon, and her roommate's brother, Chase. Despite their dangerous looks and histories, both men adore Harper and would do anything for her, including taking a step back if it would mean she'd be happy.

Love Hate this book

I’m so torn. I’m a huge fan of McAdams. She’s the best. Her books I’ve read/listened to so far (Brewed and Thatch Series) have been heartfelt, sad at times, well developed characters and great stories. They are frustrating at times bc they have interesting edge of your seat plots. But they always have had good endings. This book ended bittersweetly- I would have absolutely 100% preferred a different ending!!!! SPOILER past this point. I was team Chase from the beginning and I’m so so soooooo saddened and quite upset actually about the twist 60% of the way through the book! Yes I know it’s fiction but when a book is good, you really become invested in the characters and I feel sick to my stomach about what happened to him. He was robbed!!! They were robbed!!! Wish the outcome was different. It was hard to stomach!

Chance...

I absolutely loved this story! I wish it would have been a tri-narration as I think it always brings more life to the characters. Harper and Chance were so completely different together than Harper and Brandon. I fell in love with both of them so I see how she did. Chance - Bad Boy outside sweet and caring deep down. Brandon - Looks tough but always so sweet and caring.

Fantastic book!

Wow, what a fantastic book! I just finished reading this over a 2 day time period. I had to stop because I was crying so much! This book is so loving and touching. It is filled with so much raw emotions too. The narrator is freaking fantastic to top it off! I fell like I just finished a movie, it was that good!

This book is about a young woman (Harper) who was raised by a bunch of marines as she sets off for college. There she meets two great guys (Brandon and Chase) and falls in love with both of them. What is a girl to do? It turns out, the two guys are friends too. Read along as Harper is romanced by both Brandon and Chase and not in the way it sounds. Make sure you have a BIG box of tissues! Every girl needs to be loved and cherished like this!

The author, Molly McAdams did a fantastic job writing this book. The plot is great. The suspense and love is amazing! I can only imagine the author crying as she wrote this book too. The narrator, Anadelle Waters is just freaking awesome in her delivery of this story! All the voices and accents AND emotions she delivers as she reads this story to us. It felt so real!!! All I can say is thank you for such a great read!

I took a chance, it paid off

By Audiobooksrmyjam

I really really enjoyed this. The characters were well developed, I will say there were a few things I said “yeah right” but it’s fiction so I just went with it. The surprise guest at the ending could have had a little more time because it seemed it was “instant “ change. I liked that the men actually cried but I can’t get one of them out of my mind. He made me cry so many times.

I chose this book because I at one time was in love with two different men and I wanted to see how this character handled it. She did better than me.

The me crying through the book is par for the course with Molly’s books.

I just have to wait 8 days to read the alternate universe book.

It was worth the credit to me.

Take a chance.

So, bare with me on this one. I got the paperback book for book 1, Taking Chances, months ago and I had 1 Audiobook credit to give it a shot. Fresh from the boat and going to college...things get ugly. Yes, I did many times rolled my eyes at the characters and yet, I want more??? I am such an young soap opera fool...It’s unbelievable and incredible & far fence Storyline but hell, I love it. That’s what books can be, too! It’s a love “fiction”....FICTION Contemporary YA romance So, You can love this book or hate it but it never fails, people talking about it. Like for example, Twilight. Anyways, I am a late bloomer to get into this book but happy I did. I do not regret it at all!

The story kept me on my toes, keep me up for hours of the night. There was a lot of angst and growing up, discovering themselves type of moments. If I have to describe this book with one word, it is “Acceptance”. So, yes, this is an emotional rollercoaster kind of book. Can you handle it? A tear jerker and always gathering strength to read on and finish. I like twists and turns the author presented with the main characters: brandon, chase and Harper and the side characters: Bree, Konrad, & family, friends. I will continue to read on this series and now, all the author’s books. You just have to “take a chance” on this one! (Drop mic)
