A good, messy story!

I was craving something messy and this book gave me messy! Enjoyed it and the narration!

Hook up central

With friends like Marissa, who needs enemies. Then to add insult to injury she keeps trying to explain away her lack of loyalty. smh. So many characters without morales or integrity made me sick. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator was okay but didn't even differentiate her voices of the two racially different men. She made Jake sound like he came out of Compton. smh.

Good Story

This was my first Shani Greene-Dowdell's book. Tess and Jack's story is interesting, filled with drama. The characters are intriguing. Robyn Isaacs did a good job with the narration. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.

Engaging light read

"Taken by the Billionaire: A BWWM Romance" (2018, 2020) by Shani Greene-Dowdell is an engaging, light read about Tess, a Black woman managing a profoundly broken heart, and Jake, a White man who doesn’t know the father who turned his back on him after he was born is a billionaire. Jake pursues Tess, but she’s reluctant to get involved in another romance. No great prose displayed, but I grew to care about what happens between the two, Robyn Isaacs reads both male and female characters well. Solidly recommended. At my request, I was given this free audiobook and have voluntarily left this review.

GOOD READ!

I enjoyed it. The narration was good and kept me entertained. The author did a good job with the character builds and plot. This was my first book by this author but definitely not my last! I look forward to reading more books from this author! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I like high drama & I didnt find much here.

Ordinarly I live a quiet live, so when I pick up a fictional book I want it to be overly dramatized. Why, because I turn into a high leveled drama queen, and can spot messy a long ways off, but these characters were so typical. Oh it started high drama, & then it seemed to just flattens out, in other words the spark started flickering out in the parking lot.

I must have missed why Tess' parent were so adamant about not selling the beach house , 1st I thought a treasure was secretly buried there or 2nd it was a place where spirits visited. I'll revisit that part.

Some of the incidents were awkward, which is expected, but the main character's responses to such incidents were flat, like really are you on medication lady. The couple sounded like they were happy with one another, but once again the story was choppy.
