Excellent story and Zachary Zaba’s performance was amazing

This was a well written and beautiful story. The ML was charismatic and silly and the FL although a bit soft was sweet and charming in her own way. Definitely worth a listen.

Great Storyline

This book was different from others in the genre but still had a few similarities. Really liked main characters and the way controversy was handled, no abrasive female characters that I detest. Narrator with his oh so sexy male voice did a fantastic job with both male and female characters. Great book one. Look forward to listening the next book in series when it becomes available.

Good overall with a few irritations

Good - the narrators dialogue voices were distinct and well paced, the characters were likable and fairly well developed and I liked the concept of the story. (Though I’d have enjoyed more world building 😋)

Bad - for the narrative portions the narrator spoke way to fast with odd pauses, there is frequent repetition of thoughts ( stating multiple times/ways that he is a badass warrior, he needs a mate etc)

Ugly - some odd attempts at humor (an awkward “Are you going to probe me” right after she got kidnapped, and the like)

Good story

I liked the narrators performance. They story is really good too. I like both characters

Okay.

Overall an okay book, but the cadence of the narrator was felt similar to placing an M16 on automatic with a continuous barrage of ammo until it's empty. The narrator had a nice voice but needed to slow down some. 😎

Awesome book

OMG🥰, my name is Tabitha soooooooo this book is toe curling when i listen.

Where is the story?

Over 6 hours (admittedly at 2x speed) no story. Some basic six scenes no chemistry. Probably won’t finish. Will try to return.

Awesome Job!

Really enjoyed this first book. It was interesting and highly funny at times. The female lead didn't just give in at first lust either. Totally plausible storyline and good start and the series.

🌶🌶 Mild

After listening to this, I was not a fan of the narrator. It fight for the male lead but felt comical for the female lead. I wish they would’ve gotten into more details behind her being a plus size woman and the adoration for her. The spice was mild, but nothing off putting.

I can see how some listeners are not fans of certain concepts in this text, but compared to other texts/audiobooks, this was VERY mild.

play it at 90% speed

As some other reviewers said, the narrator spoke too fast. I listened at 90% speed, and it solved the problem for me. Aside from speaking quickly, I really liked the narrator. i was skeptical because i have been listening to books with dual narrators lately, but the narrator's voice for the male lead was perfect, and his female voices are not bad at all!
I really enjoyed the story as well. I'm a fan of this genre, so I wasn't surprised that I enjoyed it. I especially liked that none of the characters acted like dummies to create a misunderstanding for drama. it's a common troupe in romance novels that I am glad this avoided. The characters felt believable and were generally likable. I also appreciated that the book was a decent length. it really felt worth the credit!
I am updating my review to add that I have re-listened to this book a tooooon! It's one of my comfort-listens :)
