The lovers. Can't pick just one

Have you listened to any of Topher Samuels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He was a good narrator however he was a bit flat, needs more spark, enthusiasm during the action.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Several. When Jinx took her in. When she revealed Aiden amoung a few. I loved the teasing and over protectiveness__possiveness of the guys. And Duke's conversation during the battle.

Love the Immortal Ops World!

I love the continued saga of the Immortal Ops World books. The way Aiden found his mate was perfect. Being fae, it only seemed fitting that he would know it was his mate going in and handling it so differently than the shifters.
I had not heard Topper Samuels before as a narrator, but he did an outstanding job of retelling Aiden's story.

Hot and Magical

I loved listening to Eadan and Inara's story. I have read it previously but wanted to see if the audio could bring it more to life for me. The answer? Oh heck yeah! I loved it and looked for reasons to listen.Inara has been on her own for a long time. She had help for a bit, but he was captured and she had to figure things out on her own. Eadan is shown a picture of Inara and immediately wants to find and protect her. Things keep getting deeper as the Corporation is after more of the Asia Project children. Can Eadan save her? I just thought the book drew me in. The audio was that much better.

Eadan was married to Melissa for a short time and lost her and his child. They were both PSI operatives and now he is part of the I-Ops team and Roi (Melissa's mate) team. They all get along but he does get picked on because he is Fae and has a fresh "baby" face and long blonde hair. However, those characteristics do not mean he is a push over. He is just as Alpha male as any of the other Ops. After a mission where Eadan had to use his powers to save their butts he is told he has to go on a mission for PSI again and he cannot bring his team. As it turns out it is a mission to save his True Mate. She just happens to be related to Lukian and Roi. Once they all meet you can image the tension between Lukian, Roi and Eadan.

Inara has lived on the streets for years and was "adopted" by James Hagan...a former PSI Op. She knows she isn't quite human but doesn't know what she is...she does know she is allergic to Magiks. She sneezes every time she is around one. However a few months ago James was taken and Inara has been running ever since. She is tired, hungry and has no where else to go. She is going to a fight club to try to take money and food because she does not feel bad for stealing from bad people. There she meets Jinx, who gives her food and a place to shower. She doesn't trust magiks and sneezes every time she is around one. In walks Eadan, she cannot believe the man she has drawn for so long is real, and once she sneezes she realizes he is a magik.

Once they meet in walk the bad guys trying to capture Inara. It is a pretty good fight scene and I loved hearing how resourceful Inara is with an apple. I love the instant chemistry and vulnerability between the two. In the container she is drawn to Eadan and realizes he's in pain and wonders at the "bee buzzing" sound that heals him when they touch. At the time not realizing she is a magik as well. The entire story line is great and I loved listening to Topher Samuels narrate the story.
