Publisher's summary

Ancient artifacts. New enemies.

When a strange island rises out of the sea right in front of their ship, Conor McCall and his fellow Recon Marines find themselves within sight of their new home...and fighting for their lives.

The Deep Ones know about Conor’s sword, and they want it. Badly.

Fighting their way out of the ambush, the Marines and their allies find themselves drawn into the quest for the sword’s twin, far off to the east.

Others want to take both ancient swords as well, and the Marines find themselves pursued by an empire propped up by sorcery and opposed by monsters and revenants that have guarded the way to the second ancient, blessed sword for ages.

All will find their mettle tested.

If they survive.

Love this series.

The 4th installment is as magnetic to the attention as the previous three.
Best "Modern Warriors vs Mystical" I have experienced to date.
The narrator does an amazing job at keeping you inn the main character's head as well as keeping you locked solid into this fictional world.

Great story with exceptional narration!

This series is told from first person point of view, my favorite pov style. I really like the main character and enjoy knowing his thoughts and opinions. Action oriented but with some character development and just the right amount of world building. Love the narration, the style fits the story perfectly. Looking forward to the next book!

Loved it

Just finished this bad boy and looking forward to the next installment. This is book 4 of Ice and Monsters. This series and several other from Wargate Publishing hit that sweet spot for me of military meets high fantasy.

The Final Sword

Peter Nealen does a great job in how he introduces the final sword and the action surrounding it’s being acquired by our virtuous Marines and their Allies. The pieces are now being set for an epic showdown with forces from the outer dark

I might like this more than Forgotten Ruin!

I know, heresy! But Peter Nealen's world is fascinating and I find myself thinking about the characters a lot. Can't wait for the next book to arrive.

Another great addition to the series’

Mark Boyett is the perfect narrator for this series.
Pete continue to add depth to this world the characters are in as opposed to the tendency for some authors to just rehash previous content in different ways. I’m looking forward to seeing where Pete takes us from here.

It just gets better!

As this world and the greater conflict gets fleshed out, it has become a great saga. Don't miss out on a very entertaining tale.

Amazing

All the books in the series have been bangers. Book 3 started off slow but finished good. Book 4 is like Book 2, high stakes ride to the edge of civilization to retrieve the 2nd ancient sword. You got the long waited 30 that showed up. Ancient sword bearer, shamans, specters, undead sorcerer, skeletons, and shadow people. Voice acting was solid, I was really drawn into the story. Overall, 5 out of 5!

Awesome as Always

I thoroughly enjoy this series and this latest addition is no exception. The book is well-written and entertaining. Mark Boyett is the ideal narrator for this series and chemistry is evident. I look forward to the next entry.
