Story
Lively, determined, and independent, Poppy Christner isn't about to let some vandal keep making mischief on her family's farm. She's been outrunning boys and standing up for picked on children ever since she was a girl - no matter how much her prideful, arrogant schoolmate Luke Bontranger insulted her. So Poppy certainly doesn't need his interference now, especially since he's made it plain he prefers demure, ladylike companions.

For Regina Miller, the new Morning Star Marketplace is a chance to share her secret work with the world - without revealing herself. Old Order Amish forbid the creation of art without purpose, but without a husband, Regina has been free to explore the joy of painting in her attic. Yet when Gabe Flaud's curiosity leads him to speculate that Regina herself is the painter, the full weight of their community's judgement falls on her shoulders. When Gabe stands up to defend Regina, questioning the Order's restrictions, he reveals his own guilty secret and is shunned along with her.

Their Amish Stepfather: There is a new boss in the house. The Amish Baker sisters have a new stepfather and a new stepsister. What will the girls do when they learn of their new rules? Publisher's Summary
Though she has blossomed into a beauty, Lily Christner doesn't really believe it. Deep down she still feels like a lonely, gawky teenager. Maybe that's why she's all but promised herself to Paul Glick, the one boy who never teased her in her awkward girlhood, unlike Dan Kanagy, whose creative name-calling left her in tears many a time.
Now he's back in town after two years away and being surprisingly sweet - making Lily unsettlingly yet deliciously nervous. It seems Dan wants Lily's forgiveness...and her heart. But can he convince her - not to mention her protective schwesters and aendi - that despite the past, her future lies with him?

Narrator needs Deutsch lessons
What made the experience of listening to Sweet as Honey the most enjoyable?
The story line was excellent.
What did you like best about this story?
The author made the characters seem real.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
The narration was a bit annoying because she mispronounced so many of the Deutsch words....for instance, "Die" is not pronounced as the act of dying, but "dee" and it was infuriating every time she used the word. Several times I had to turn the book off because I couldn't deal with it.
Any additional comments?
I loved the story, but the narration was something else.

I will not be finishing this series
The main character in this story, Lily, got on my nerves so bad. I don't know much about Amish culture but the author made Lily seem so weak minded that whenever her boyfriend said jump she said how high. Another issue was how easy he could manipulate her with the Word of God, I know that this happens all the time but it was exhausting "watching" Lily make up with Dan then letting Paul manipulate her, it was an endless cycle.
