When magic is up, electricity dies, cars stall, and skyscrapers tumble; when it's down, phones and guns work, and defensive spells can't protect your house from the creatures who stalk the streets. Equally dangerous are the competing factions of The Pack - a highly organized and military clan who governs Atlanta's were-bears, -wolves, and -hyenas - versus the Masters of the Dead, power and knowledge-hungry necromancers whose minds control hordes of blood-crazed vampires.

Seriously Disappointed

Publisher's Summary
A charming, short novella in the Innkeeper Chronicles, from number one The New York Times best-selling author Ilona Andrews.
Thank you for joining us at Gertrude Hunt, the nicest bed-and-breakfast in Red Deer, Texas, during the Treaty Stay. As you know, we are honor-bound to accept all guests during this oldest of innkeeper holidays, and we are expecting a dangerous guest. Or several. But have no fear. Your safety and comfort is our first priority. The inn and your hosts - Dina Demille and Sean Evans - will defend you at all costs. But we hope we don’t have to.
Every winter, the innkeepers look forward to celebrating their own special holiday, commemorating the ancient treaty that united the very first inns and established the rules that protect them, their intergalactic guests, and the very unaware/oblivious people of planet Earth.
By tradition, the innkeepers welcomed three guests: a warrior, a sage, and a pilgrim, but during the holiday, the innkeepers must open their doors to anyone who seeks lodging. Anyone.
All Dina hopes is that the guests and conduct themselves in a polite manner. But what’s a holiday without at least one disaster?

Can't finish this audiobook, poor narrator
The new narrator for this series is absolutely jarring. I own all of the books by Ilona Andrews and I am a huge fan. I often listen to them more than once. Rene Raudman was outstanding and the authors were incredibly lucky to have teamed up with her. I don't know what went into the decision to change narrators, but it was clearly a bad one. I have tried several times to listen to this audiobook, and I can't do it. The narration is terrible. Dina's soft, southern accent is gone. The narrator can't do male voices at all. The narration is inconsistent and flat. While changing narrators mid-stream is always difficult, this one is particularly challenging since it is a fan favorite series that had a fabulous narrator. I will have to return this audiobook and go back and listen to an earlier book with Ms. Raudman to purge the memory of this awful narration. Sooooooo disappointed in this audiobook.

Love the story not the narrator
I love every story in this series. I love everything Ilona Andrews and this is no exception. I have the ebook but had to get the audiobook too. I love Renee raudmen and I get not every performer is always available but I just can’t get into this narrator. She sounds like she is trying to give the performance as a rich elitist and it’s annoying . I wouldn’t listen to her for another story if I can help it I just don’t like her style. It comes across overacted. I hope future books will go back to Renee. Great story but I’ll skip the narrated version next time if she’s it again. Please wait for Renee to be free it’s worth the wait!!

Love
I’m a big fan of the inn keeper series and I really enjoyed this short novella I do hope the Andrews continue to write this series. My only disappointment was that Renee Raudman was not the narrator for this audible, Natalie Naudus did a decent job but I just think Renee has the better voice for Dima because that is how I picture her accent and she has a better Sean tone then Natalie, I think Natalie’s voice is just to soft for this series

Keeps getting better
It’s two weeks after the events of One Fell Sweep. Maud and Helen have travelled to Daesyn with Arland and you can read their excellent story in Sweep of the Blade.
Meanwhile, Dina and Sean are dealing with a review by the Innkeeper Assembly, a stay by a most elusive and powerful alien, a demandingly evil millionaire, and militant space chickens having a very physical philosophical debate.
I’m sorry, but Naudus is just tippytoes this side of OK. Too much of the story just runs together and it feels like she takes away from the story which I read MANY times in kindle before audio. I have to go back to reread and clear my palate.

Sweep with Me
llona Andrews has an imagination that I love to visit and lounge in. She was my first SciFi series that involved "other worlds" that I really enjoyed. It has given me the spark of curiosity to branch out of my norm. Sweep with Me is a good short story. We discover what has been happening since the epic battle in the last book where Dina sacrificed herself for an Inn Seed.
The story is too short to fully quench the thirst for more Inn Keepers series, but it felt good to listen to the antics of Oro and Her Grace. The installment keeps with the nature of the other books and finds Dina caring for a variety of species in the Inn and trying to keep things under control. That part of the story is perfect for me.
Dina's inner turmoil even makes sense. What doesnt make sense is how she has one thought and POOF💨, inner conflict disappears. It would have preferred her and the Inn to reconnect, bond, or take care of issue together that reunites them.
I know some of friends disagree, but this is one of the rare occasions that I loved the narrator change. This lady has a younger voice that matches Dina's age. She also did her research. She kept the voices for each character similar to what we are accustomed and even the inflections of their speech. Dont get me wrong, the last narrator was good too but her Dina voice sounded like an old lady. This new lady really did a good job to keep what was great and only change what was needed. If you had to change, then this was an excellent choice.

Another lovely inkeeper novel
I absolutely love this series. But it is a shame they changed the narrator. You get used to a voice (and a southern accent). This narrator is not as pleasant to listen to and sometimes the sentences do not flow as easily as one might expect.
Ilona Andrews storytelling remains strong and brilliant through.

Wish it was longer
Oh I hoped the book would be longer, and about the lost brother and parents. Why? Because its a highly original story, a perfect blend of syfy, fantasy, humor and romance. Only negative is the obsessive description of the male, muscular look. It gets very tiring, very fast! And usually for me, a sign of low quality writing. But not this Series is very fresh and original story.
