Story
All Marnie wants is somewhere to call home. Mourning lost years spent in a marriage that has finally come to an end, she needs a fresh start and time to heal. Things she hopes to find in the rural west Lancashire village her mother always told her about. With nothing but her two green thumbs, Marnie takes a job as a gardener, which comes with a little cottage to make her own. The garden is beautiful - filled with roses, lavender and honeysuckle - and only a little rough around the edges. Which is more than can be said for her next-door neighbour, Ned Mars.

Lissie is a nurse in a gritty, hectic London neighborhood. Always terribly competent and good at keeping it all together, she’s been suffering quietly with PTSD after helping to save the victim of a shocking crime. Her supervisor quietly arranges for Lissie to spend a few months doing a much less demanding job in the little town of Kirrinfeif in Scottish Highlands, hoping that the change of scenery will help her heal. Story
Christmas is fast approaching at the new Hope Farm and Bev has convinced a reluctant Molly to organise an open day to raise some much needed funds ahead of the New Year. Their nativity tableau has everything they need: anti-social sheep, alpacas munching the Baby Jesus doll and a hairdresser dressed up as Santa Claus. But on Hope Farm it's going to take more than mulled wine and Christmas lights to get everyone in the festive spirit.

For Sam Lovell, organising the summer festival in her hometown is one of the highlights of her year. It’s not always smooth sailing, but she loves to see Porthmellow’s harbour packed with happy visitors and being on the committee has provided a much-needed distraction from the drama in her family life (and the distinct lack of it in her love life). When their star guest pulls out with only a few weeks to go, everyone’s delighted when a London chef who grew up locally steps in at the last minute.

Publisher's Summary
When time out becomes the time of your life.
The brand new audiobook from best seller Carole Matthews.
Jodie Jackson is all at sea, in every sense.
On a ferry bound for the Isle of Wight, she's leaving her London life, her career and her husband behind. She'd like a chance to turn back the clocks, but she'll settle for some peace and quiet on her brother Bill's beautifully renovated houseboat, Sunny Days.
But from the moment Jodie steps aboard her new home, it's clear she'll struggle to keep herself to herself. If it isn't Marilyn, who cleans for Bill and is under strict instructions to look after Jodie, then it's Ned, the noisy sculptor on the next-door houseboat. Ned's wood carving is hard on the ears, but it's made up for by the fact that he's rather easy on the eyes.
Bustled out of the boat by Marilyn and encouraged to explore with Ned, Jodie soon delights in her newfound freedom. But out of mind isn't out of sight, and when her old life comes knocking, Jodie is forced to face reality. Will she answer the call or choose a life filled with sunny days and sea breezes?

Narrator a bit irritating.
The book was fairly predictable but the author described the characters and scenery very well.
It left me eager to explore the places mentioned.
Unfortunately I found the narrator not that good, every time she read a male voice it sounded utterly false and detracted from the words.
I never really warmed to the lead character Jodie either until she finally sought revenge.
If you are after a predictable light read you will likely enjoy it, but I think it's better as a book.

Pleasant book
This was an ok book. Overall I enjoyed it, although more than once I thought to return it. However, I am glad I stuck with it. I’m not a fan of ‘I’ve a secret I’m not telling but will just drop hints’ in general, ana more than one cringy moments, but overall a pleasant listen on my evening walk.

Good Ad for the Isle of Wight!
Quite a good story but not one of Carole Matthews’ best, a bit too predictable and the narration a bit too hearty. Quite enjoyed it. Made me keen to see the Isle of Wight!
