Publisher's summary

I have seen men become Gods and I have seen Gods become dust

Magic pieces of armor rain from Lenova's skies, granting men God-like powers. Mountains move, lightning bends to command, and a man's future can be written in a book before it's even happened.

In this emerging chaos, teenage Finn SunRider cares only for escaping the burning desert of the Crust and exploring the world he lives in. Yet that will prove quite difficult with monsters and tyrants roaming the land, conquering cities and killing the innocent.

With a Sorceress and her evil Lich master rising from the South, and with an ancient mysterious artifact grafted onto Finn's arm, he's ended up getting a lot more than he bargained for.

From flaming coal-coated vat-worms and two-directional streams to floating cities and underground pyramids, follow a fantasy journey of epic proportions!

Greatly enjoyed!

Very entertaining and written in a way to draw you in. Descriptive and engaging. The main character reminds me a little of Rand Al’thor in the beginning of the wheel of time series. Great moral character and many hints of what the character will blossom into. The Narrator did a great job of making you feel the excitement and suspense of the action scenes. I’m excited for the series to continue.

Loved it!

I loved this story, everything about i think was great, the concept, the characters and everythin! The only thing I didn't like about this whole thing was the voice of goblin, don t get me wrong, I love goblin and everyone, but I just don't like the voice that was given too him, it kinda sounded like an real goblin.

Not optional apprently

I had trouble with this one.

The grand concept is one I really love and have thought about many times. The idea of artifacts of great power shaping history is really fun.(I love the night angel trilogy)

But I have tried to get through this for a while and it never clicked. I think in part the main character just feels like a child most of the time, with little growth.

This might have been a drawing point sometime before I hit 30, but now he's just a bit annoying.
I don't think the writing is bad, but I don't feel inclined to read the next book.

Everything except Wahala

This series would be great, but Wahala and her constant complaining about every single issue, and her constant blaming of others. Every time the story follows Finn I am on the edge of my seat, but the second the POV switches to Wahala the story loses momentum and I lose the will to keep listening.

A wonderful journey

Unique, thrilling, uncompromisingly brutal in some parts, and so much damn fun. A wonderful start to an incredibly original world.

Not what expected

The story is good but the main character is too weak mentally and physically in my opinion. It’s frustrating that the MC didn’t seem to take action much but his friends did majority of the work for him. I wouldn’t recommend this book even though the narrator and story was somewhat good.

Good start

I kept waiting for Fin to figure it out but it was kind of refreshing that everyone in the book just didn’t automatically know everything once imbued with power.

Solid story

The pacing of this book is quick. Not every character is talked about to death or being explained what they are feeling which is something I enjoyed about this book. The author can be overly dramatic at time but he is writing about a teenager. I will be getting book two.

Great proactive characters, epic scope.

TLDR:
Epic. Proactive. Bloody. Inspiring. Read it!

The main character is VERY proactive, but he isn't spontaneously super powered. He has weaknesses, and he learns and grows. The other characters get a significant amount of development too! One of the main point of view characters is the second in command to the villain and she HATES him. A greatly sympathetic character with great ambitions. you root for her yet wonder how evil she would be if she were in charge.

Overall, one of the most epic things I've read! It's a huge world and scope, yet the way he approaches the writing near the beginning maintains a great amount of tension while slowly and carefully educating the reader. Other epics are boring in the section before the main character leaves their home, but not so here. The tension and action is high from the get go. The learning curve is one of the smoothest in any epic fantasy I've read.

Great book! Read it. It has minimal cussing, no graphic sexuality, but the violence can be quite intense. But despite its somewhat bleak stretches, it does offer many inspiring moments and hope for the future. (Something sorely lacking in darker fantasy faire nowadays.)
