Publisher's summary

Susan Wiggs's Lakeshore Chronicles series has captivated thousands of listeners with its relatable characters, warm humor and engaging stories. Summer at Willow Lake is the story that started it all. Meet Olivia, Connor and the families and friends of Willow Lake that make these emotional romances a must-hear.

Real estate expert Olivia Bellamy reluctantly trades a trendy Manhattan summer for her family's old resort camp in the Catskills, where her primary task will be renovating the bungalow colony for her grandparents, who want one last summer together filled with fun, friends and family. A posh resort in its heyday, the camp is now in disarray and Olivia is forced to hire contractor Connor Davis - a still-smoldering flame from her own summers at camp.

But as the days grow warm, not even the inviting blue waters of Willow Lake can cool the passions flaring or keep shocking secrets at bay. The nostalgic joy of summers past breathes new promise into a special place and people...a promise meant to last long after the season ends.

Don't miss Candlelight Christmas, the latest story in the Lakeshore Chronicles series by #1 New York Times Bestselling author Susan Wiggs.

good story

liked the plot- rich girl finds love- but narrator's male voices are awkward, unappealing and unconvincing.

Joyce Bean brings this story to life

This is a good start to the series. I enjoy the character development, but I also always enjoy this narrator. She’s excellent! I’m looking forward to the rest of the stories in this series.

Took me back to times I loved

Thoroughly enjoyable. Having grown up in camp right where this is set, it was especially delightful. This is my third Susan Wiggs book and I look forward to others. A great compliment to more intense books.

another good read by Susan Wiggs

another entertaining story by Susan Wiggs. the reader was fantastic. You could tell who each character was without her even announcing the character's name

The narration is not good. I wanted to like this book. I loved summer camp, but it wasn’t happening. I left it unfinished with a couple hours to go. I filed in my folder called terrible purchase. Sadly it has company. I need to review better before purchasing! Not the light summer read I needed.

Enjoyed the story...Bad narrator.

Great story!!!!!
The narration was awful. I am sorry to say the narrator's voice made me want to pull my ears off.
I was hopeful that it was just this one book that she narrated but unfortunately it's all in the series.
I don't think I can justify my credit on a good book with such a irritating narration.
If only Cassandra Campbell could be narrating this book it would be perfect

Struggled to Finish

I am a Susan Wiggs reader, but I found this book slow and tedious to read.

I love this book!!!

What did you love best about Summer at Willow Lake?

I have read Summer at Willow Lake several times! It is one of my all time favorite books and the Lakeshore Chronicles are one of my favorite series! I ended up getting the Audible version to listen to at work and I'm so glad I did. Really enjoyed the performance.... the narrator was outstanding! I'll definitely be purchasing the rest of the series.

No thanks, Lolly

There are some really funny bits and some good secondary characters.  I thought the narration suited the novel, and I liked the way the back story unfolded.   Usually, I get to know the folks like them better for knowing more.  Sadly,  the main character, Lolly, became so unlikable, that, as the story went on, my store of patience dwindled to empty.  I did find her engaging at the beginning, but, by the end I'd had enough of Lolly and felt pretty sorry for the groom.  The kids are all pretty great, however, even Lolly.

Summer at Willow Lake

Listening to the story was good except when the narrator did the voice of the I’m thinking the good looking man. Could hardly stand it and almost sent the book back because of it!
