AN ENGAGEMENT OF CONVENIENCE by Regina Scott: Kitty Chapworth is nearly a spinster, and an orphan living on the charity of her uncle, with nothing to recommend her for the marriage mart. Her primary purpose is relegated to acting chaperone for her cousins until she can see them successfully married. Kitty remains focused on her duty even though she knows her future is bleak. When Quentin Adair returns from a long ten years working in Jamaica and proposes a wild charade to Kitty, she agrees, although the plan might reawaken her old feelings for Quentin. Can a reformed rake convince the perfect chaperone to overlook propriety for love?

A PERFECT MATCH by Donna Hatch: Genevieve attends a summer house party hosted by her best friend who can't wait to introduce her to a gentleman she wants to marry, Christian Amesbury. After meeting him, Genevieve determines Christian is perfect... for her. Torn between loyalty to her best friend and the yearnings of her heart, Genevieve must first escape the attention of a powerful lord who's obsessed with her and who tries to rob her of any hope for a happily ever after.

THE PAUPERS' HOUSE PARTY by Sarah M. Eden: It's a rare event that Edward Downy and his brother are invited to a house party by a member of the ton. But when they arrive, Edward quickly realizes this house party is different than any other. All invited guests are quite destitute, fallen members of Society barely hanging onto their homes. The hosts of the house party, the Warricks, then make a stunning announcement - they intend to gift all their properties to one fortunate guest. As the guests race to impress the Warricks, Edward finds a fast friend in Agatha Holmwood, who shares his same aversion to the horrible expectations. But their growing fondness for each other only makes the game more painful.

Triple Win!

I’m beginning to look forward to these collections. By following an excellent author, I’ve discovered several really good, new inspiring writers. Sarah M. Eden led me to Summer House Party, three excellent Regency Romance novellas and two new authors to read —Regina Scott and Donna Hatch.

Enjoyable stories

I enjoyed this narration of 3 stories. The first two took a bit to get into but they were still good stories however the last one was my favourite. It has a very good message for the listener. The narrator was very easy to listen to and I definitely recommend this audio book.

I needed this

I needed a book to listen too that wasn’t eleven hours long. Normally I do go for the longest books to listen too. But not now. Listening to many stories instead of one, and all of them are the best! Each story having it’s own unique flavor but still fitting in with each other. Light, fun and happy endings! It could not have been better! I feel uplifted and fed by amazing stories. Don’t miss it!

Good stories

I borrowed this book from my niece because the story by Hatch is a prequel to the third book in her Rogue Hearts series. I was glad to read the prequel because the two really do belong together. The Rogue book would have been far harder to read without the prequel story first.

I enjoyed all three of the novellas. I liked that in An Engagement of Convenience, that even though the engagement was fake, Quentin stood up for Kitty and wouldn't let others disparage her. It was understandable that Kitty was willing to go against her uncle to do what was right but I had to wonder just a little about how easily Lucy would go against her father.

A Perfect Match I talked about in the first paragraph. I think it would be better to have this novella as part of the novel instead of separate. I only happened to chance onto the knowledge that the two went together because of my niece. Both the novella and the novel are better when combined with the other.

The Paupers' House Party was fun because of the banter between Agatha and Edward. He was the only person that understood her humor and it made them fun together. I couldn't decide who I thought should win the estate and for a bit thought I had it figured out but then it didn't go that way. I also kept expecting the Warrick's to show a better side as the house party went on but they only seemed to get worse. So I didn't predict how they got to the happily ever after very accurately. I always enjoy Sarah M. Eden stories.

Narration is very good.

The last story was okay.

The last story was okay, but I was slightly annoyed by the two main characters. I get that they wanted to be themselves, but sometimes you have to compromise in order to get what you really need.
