Publisher's Summary

The Body Keeps the Score is the definitive guide to trauma and its treatments. It is meant to help you to navigate the mind-body link so you can see the effects of childhood trauma and adult trauma.

It dives into the stories we don't want to face. It also discusses treatment options, some of which are not conventional. Come and learn how to help yourself or someone you love.

There is no easy way to talk to a victim about the abuse. There is no easy way to help them to move on, but this audiobook will help you to take the first steps. You will also find:

  • Treatment options
  • Medication vs. meditation

terrible

I've read the whole book and got this suumary to solidify the ideas in the book. It is a terrible summary made worse by terrible narration. monotonous and with poor spacing. Sometimes it feels like chapters are one big long sentence.

Dry interpretation of a fascinating book

I can see why someone might get a summary to pass a test or something. This is the first time I tried a summary and it will be the last. I got it along with the actual book to serve as a brush up on key points. Don’t judge the book by this summary. It’s a dry husk if the juicy original.

So much practical.

It is the most important book I've ever encountered. These are based on our increasing understanding of the brain, and the old but neglected wisdom of the oneness of mind and body.

One of the best.

Extraordinary book which includes years of anecdotes backed by medical statistics which strongly suggest that the memory of trauma stays in our physical bodies, often expressed as injuries, and can be released and exorcized by certain specific kinds of therapies.

Overall an adequate summary.

Glad I bought the summary & not the full book, as now I know I don’t want to buy the book. Not exactly what I expected from the content. The narrator sounds robotic, but she got the job done. If you’re considering buying the book, this is an adequate summary to help you decide.
