Publisher's Summary

According to Brené Brown, author of Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts, leadership has nothing to do with title, status, or power.

On the contrary, a leader is anyone who takes responsibility to recognize potential in others and helps them to develop that potential. In her book, she explains that we must take the time to develop our own leadership qualities in order to be a good leader.

Perhaps you’re interested in learning more about this book before you buy it - or you just don’t have the time to listen to the full book. Our summary will help!

In our summary, you’ll find the highlights of the book, including the three lessons that will help you become a courageous leader:

  • Courage and vulnerability go hand-in-hand.
  • You can navigate even the most difficult circumstances if you take the time to narrow down your core values to just two.
  • There are seven behaviors that create trust, as indicated by the acronym BRAVING.

We also take the time to outline the acronym BRAVING:

  • B: Boundaries
  • R: Reliability
  • A: Accountability
  • V: Vault
  • I: Integrity
  • N: Non-judgment
  • G: Generosity

You will find out what it means to be a brave leader in a world that is characterized by scarcity, fear, and uncertainty. You will develop your skills as a leader and become the best you can possibly be.

Please note: This is a summary of Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts and not the original book.

The book was an easy listen with lots of scenarios I could see myself in along my journey, it was helpful to listen about how the data was gathered and used in the book.

What an excellent book.

This book helped me realize and claim more inner peace, and it has transformed the level of peace and joy I appreciate with my spouse. My inner perfectionist's voice has been quieted a bit also, and I had no idea how much I needed that. Who knew?

Like this whole data.

I was pleasantly surprised to learn how dare to lead doesn't mean you always win. Learning that being perfect is not a worthy goal and a sure way feel not good enough. Joy is important to me and now knowing it only comes from gratitude I get how backwards I've been doing things.
