Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Afterlife by Eben Alexander | Book summary | Abbey Beathan

(Disclaimer: This is NOT the original book. If you’re looking for the original book, it is available from Amazon and Audible.)

A Harvard-trained neurosurgeon faced his own mortality and survived a coma that lasted seven days. After he woke up, what he discovered during his slumber made him a believer.

Driven into a coma and with no hope of surviving, Eben managed to pull through. However, in his seven-day slumber, he had vivid dreams about things he didn’t know about, like a deceased birth sister he didn’t get a chance to meet. He was puzzled, and as a scientist, he couldn’t find an explanation. In the state his brain was in, it couldn’t have functioned at all. So, why did it? How could he know details about facts he didn’t know before? The answer changed his life for good.

(Note: This summary is wholly authored and published by Abbey Beathan. It is not affiliated with the original author in any way.)

“Our eternal spiritual self is more real than anything we perceive in this physical realm, and has a divine connection to the infinite love of the Creator.” (Eben Alexander)

Proof of Heaven tells the tale of his attempt to comprehend consciousness and his origin. After his coma, Alexander began his journey to prove we are conscious despite our brains, as if it’s embedded to our very soul. The only answer he could find through all his research was within God, so he turned to him.

Alexander assures he found scientific proof to his theory and is willing to show us in his new book; are you willing to listen?

Fantastically described....

Proof of Heaven is a wonderful book, well written and easy to read. I believed in the afterlife or better said a continued existence outside of our human form. I recommend this book for everyone.

5 stars with gratitude...

I found this book to be inspiring and believable. It was an interesting prospective from a medical professional written in an easy-to-understand manner.
The story renewed my beliefs in the hereafter and left me with a good feeling when I finished it.

Belief

Very much enjoyed the CD. I use it for those with those dying in their families to reassure them; with those in the final stages of life to reassure them. Most excellent!

Beautifully written and rings true.

It is always interesting to watch scientific minds grapple with seemingly unscientific events. As we learn more about our fundamentally deep connection to each other, we can only improve as a species. Enjoy this journey.

Five Stars.

I was relieved to see that a neuroscientist had such an experience because it blows the naysayers out of the water, which is , I'm sure what God intended. The reason I didn't give 5 stars was because I wanted to know more about what Eben saw and heard.

Stars An incredible journey.

Overall, a good book. I experienced conflicting feelings of skepticism and hope. Some sections where the author explains physiological aspects of his experiences were difficult to follow.
