Publisher's summary

Please note that this summary of Getting Things Done by David Allen is not the original book. This audiobook was written and published by BookSuma and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the author or publisher of the original.

Getting Things Done is David Allen's framework for keeping track of and organizing your projects and tasks. But it's no run-of-the-mill to-do list. Its purpose is to give you a system that you can trust completely and that will gather your ideas, projects, and to-do's in a way that is thorough, actionable, and uncomplicated.

One of the best things about GTD is that it operates under a broad assumption that its users' mental energy is at a premium. In other words, the system does not require a ton of thought and reflection to be used effectively. In the spirit of preserving brain power, it allows you to track what you need to do without dedicating more of your precious focus than is completely necessary.

The BookSuma summary of David Allen's Getting Things Done brings you the main takeaways from the book in less than half an hour! Our experts have read and extracted the most important points from Getting Things Done, distilling those key points into an easy-to-follow summary for your convenience. Our passion is helping busy people maximize their time and personal growth.

Getting Things Done!

Never found a process or system that works to unify and harmonise my countless to-do lists and priority tasks & goals at home and professionally and find alignment.

it made me quite poor at leading and daily execution, especially when it comes to planning long term projects and staying conscientiously on task, plus reviewing weekly and optimising on strategy in order to stay on track and get to my destination.

I would plan a whole schedule and get mentally fatigued with repeating the same thing, rethinking, getting a sense of progression, ability to instigate timely-execution, or just frustrated with misalignments. it was the same with organising my in-house at work. I was terrible at this.

I looked around and noticed a collegue was quick and had a system of handling this well. he pointed me to an obscure page showing the 5steps from GTD that he used for handling his email box.
I dug deeper and found there was actually a book and a conference / workshop in Amsterdam in June.

I got the Audiobook summary to peruse the content and get a sense of the key tenets of the system.
I will get the full Audiobook next, and will see if I can also get tickets to the event this year and attend a physical workshop in Amsterdam and gain access to the author and people struggling with getting their planning, performance and productivity life-pillars sorted.

Acquiring this one skill of organisation and timely execution will affect the way my life turns out and will help better combat procrastination and poor execution.

for me, gaining competence in this area would be worth its weight in gold!

I wanted this to be good

I'm revisiting the getting things done book so I was hoping for a good summary that could speed up my implementation of the process I think this one needs to be updated.

Must Read for All Type A Professionals

Quick and easy to understand! Critically helpful takeaways that can transform my productivity now. You must be open to the concept of lists though.
