More! More! More!

My first introduction to Benjamin Percy came not from his novels, but from his essays on writing that were published in a popular literary magazine. After reading his advice column so long, I was thrilled to see he was publishing a collection of short stories under the title of "Suicide Woods" only to be disappointed that an audio version of the entire collection has not been recorded yet. I only found the title story "Suicide Woods" as recorded by another literary magazine. Nevertheless, I was pleased with this tidbit about a therapist who works with survivors of suicide attempts to help them overcome their desire for death. I don't want to give too much away, but Percy's writing most reminds me of Edgar Allan Poe who often wrote about people being buried alive. Percy's writing is crisp, clean, without too much explanation. It moves and I move with it. My only regret is that audio recordings have not been made of any of his books yet. He is a superb storyteller whose works deserves to be recorded to make them more accessible. I only want more, more, more!

Actually quite good.

I didn’t think I would enjoy this at all, but it’s quite good, narration and all. If you have contemplated suicide it’s definitely an eye opening perspective.

I'm glad I added it although it was a surprise to learn how short it was.
Is a dark very entertaining short story.

Such a nice surprise!

I am a first time audible user and I downloaded a few stories to see how I would like this app. I forgot what this story was about and I decided to listen to it on a car ride. WHAT A ROLLER COASTER OF EMOTIONS! It was a fast read. I was so sad that it ended, and was super surprised by the ending. I look forward to more stories by this author.
