The improbable romance began when she was a 45-year-old widow. The romance occurred in a time before computer games, music videos and web browsers. It was a time when couples didn't contemplate divorce, and people suppressed illicit desires.
Linda Watson was a widow with two children. She lived a life of suburban leisure with a large house, a backyard pool and afternoon tennis matches at the country club. The neighborhood was hospitable, and long-time friends helped each other in time of need. When her best friend, Cindy Sloan, asked for a seemingly innocuous favor, of watching the house and cooking a few casseroles; Linda agreed to monitor the Sloan residence, and feed Cindy's hungry college-age son.
Wayne Sloan was not happy with his lousy summer job, his overbearing girlfriend, and the prospect of a vigilant neighbor monitoring his activities over a long weekend. But Wayne’s mood changed when Linda made an unexpected appearance at the Sloan residence.
As Linda and Wayne pushed the limits of appropriate behavior; secrets were revealed and intriguing propositions offered. The romance between Linda and Wayne was improper, but the passion was real.
