Good story ruined by political bias.

I am a middle aged African American woman with two master degrees and I love prepper novels. I especially enjoy the ones with Biblical prophecy. However, the excitement of the survival story and the satisfaction of good overcoming evil is spoiled when the story line turns into a political statement and stereotypical descriptions and dialogues from ethnically diverse characters. It probably wouldn't bother me as much if the political statements weren't one sided. I've never listened to a novel that blamed GW Bush/Repulicans for his role in this Middle East mess we're in. I only hear about Obama/Democrats. I know these novels aren't written for my demographic, but sometimes the overt racism and foul language results in my retuning the books. This series almost lost me in this final installment when It was said that President Obama had admitted he was a Muslim and had opened the borders for all to come in. This is a fiction novel with statements some would accept as fact. By the time I reached this point in the series, I was too invested in the characters to abruptly stop and wanted to know their outcome. Finally, I love Kevin Pierce's narration. His inclusion in an audio greatly influences my decision to purchase. I'm sure some will greatly disagree with my thoughts, but I finally decided to share. Thank you.

Kevin Pierce is what saves this series.

I'm sorry but this series progressively got worse with each episode......the lead characters were boobs.

Good book!

A good read! I'm from STL MO and the authors knowledge of the area was a nice addition for me.

The writing was very smooth, easy to follow the story, the only complaint I have is that it switches from first to second person intermittently for no apparent reason, doesn't take away from it being a good read just odd.

I look forward to the next one!
