Essential book to have on stretching!
What did you love best about Stretching?
The detailed instructions in each section provide a clear outline on how to perform the numerous stretches given out in this book! Great book to have on stretching methods and techniques!

Any book out there on stretching and breathing techniques however among the ones I've read and listened to, this has to be one of the best. It breaks down each stretching practice fully yet simply!

More important than I thought
This audiobook definitely opened my eyes to the importance of stretching. From the very beginning, it stressed how vital it can be, not just for our physical endeavors, but for our day to day lives. With a wide range of detailed instructions, including the length of time a person should perform each stretch (something that I find I have difficulty determining), this book provides an extremely thorough overview of stretching as a form of physical activity in and of itself. Too often it is seen as an afterthought, and this book really brought it into the light. There are even routines to follow, so a person getting no started isn't overwhelmed! A great listen overall.

Great Book On Stretching;Learned Lots!
Stretching is simply lengthening your muscles and is very important. Stretching comes with many benefits including,improved balance and coordination,improved posture,prevention of injuries,reduction of muscle soreness,maximized flexibility and range of motion throughout your body. Failure to stretch also causes some effects like increased stiffness and soreness in your body.Over stretching can also cause permanent damage to your tendons. looking forward to a more flexible, pain-free body
Stretching is very important before you exercise, of course, in order to prevent injury to the body, but it also has other advantages, like making your body more flexible overall and for better health in general.
This book teaches you many different ways to stretch out your body, especially specific parts of your body, such as your hamstrings and calves. The exercises are given in step by step instructions so that you can follow along as you listen to the audio file, and includes the amount of time you need to do each and, if applicable, the number of breaths (e.g. holding a particular position for three to five breaths, which is often
also required in yoga).
I have been suffering through some left leg pain lately and a chiropractor told me I need to stretch it out regularly to keep the pain down, so this book is helping me to know which exercises work for that.

Lots of Great Stretches and Explained Very Nicely
I jad no problems finding some great new stretches for my lower back and hips. Those areas had been bothering me for quite some time and they are feeling much better after a week of stretching!
The narrator is great and it is easy to figure out exactly what to do with each stretch. My favorite stretches are the knee to chest stretch, cat stretch and the internal hip rotator stretch.
Highly recommended for anyone who wants to feel better and be stronger.

Basic Knowledge
I took away little from this book. I'm searching to find a book that goes into good detail about the science and anatomy of stretching in order to learn what methods are effective and what method are not. This was not that book. I'm happy this book was written about stretching and I think there should be more, but I feel there could have been a better use of the content than listing various stretches.

Great for beginning athletes and stretchers
It goes pretty in depth over how to stretch numerous areas and body parts. Be prepared to invest in a lengthy amount of time to stretch as it will take upwards of an hour to fully optimize your stretches. The book itself does a good job of going over the pros and possible negative things that could happen if you do not utilize stretching which evidently can be a lot of things. I did not know there were different levels of stretching ability. The positive is that you can stretch no matter how athletic or experienced you are. The book is filled with ways to help you increase strength, flexibility, and how to minimize risks.

Would you listen to Stretching again? Why?
Absolutely. I plan to listen to it as many times as necessary to be able to repeat the stretches. Listening to how to perform the stretches makes things easier and more relaxing.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Stretching?
The most memorable moment for me was about back stretching. I have a slipped disc and am hesitant to stretch certain areas of my back. Mackey provides stretches for beginners, and this was helpful.
What does Joshua Mackey bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I think it is something about his tone and understanding. I feel like I paid for an expensive class and he is there helping me through it.

McCloud shows you how to warm up and practise basic and most advance exercise. General stretch divides into 4 groups like dynamic, ballistic, static and isometric. All of them are very detailed described and supported by examples. We can see hove many variation can be used and different combination. Also timing is provided that is very valuable. Many exercises come from yoga poses and have name like swastikasana or lotus shoulder. For me very important is back stretch because if you don’t do them properly you can hurt yourself.
That is why “Stretching” as a great guide for health and safety is so important. Safe and easy is cat stretch that allowed you to touch the ground by your palms. You can learn how to rotate your hips, arms and bend your knees and legs in different position. Also valuable are hands and neck stretching that you can do even sitting and watching TV! Also from “
Stretching” you can find useful equipment like a resistance band, an exercise ball and weights. You can see how nice and funny can be stretching routine and how fantastic you can feel after that. Highly recommended!

Great guide to get you started with stretching
I have a friend that stretches every morning before she goes to work and she absolutely swears by it and so I was intrigued to see exactly what the benefits are and how to do it properly without injuring myself. This is a very detailed guide that breaks down a number of stretching exercises and techniques and in to levels of difficulty so that you can build up your own stretching routine and not overwhelm your body with stretches that are too advanced.
I had no idea how important stretching was for improving your posture, flexibility, balance and co-ordination. I feel educated as to the dos and don’ts of stretching and definitely want to start implementing it in my life.

I will most definitely listen to this book many times while doing and learning the stretches.

Stretching before exercising is very important as pain in the muscles can be avoided. I wasn’t aware of how beneficial stretching was. It helps improving circulation and minimising stress. This book has pointed out the importance of stretching for relaxing purposes as well. It offers a great set of exercises for different body parts and levels.
You can also learn how to stretch properly through 4 basic types of stretches. I wasn't being used to stretching a lot after waking up so this is a very good new habit for me. I will do lot more stretching during the week. This is an excellent book that needs to be read!
