Loved it

The old fashioned style of writing of this story makes it very appealing. It sets the time & tone of the story perfectly. It’s beautifully written from the perspective of two teenagers & a terribly proper widower. It captures the bombing of London perfectly. The rubble, the smoke, the fires & ordinary folk cowering in shelters & basements. Just like we read what’s happening in Ukraine right now.
