When a phone call with bad news comes on the heels of a personal heartbreak, nurse Kerry MacIntyre takes a leave of absence from the hospital where she works in Toronto and books a flight home to Yukon Territory in northern Canada.
Surgeon Aidan Stowe's hands will never fully recover. Wallowing in self-pity, he plans to exile himself in the wilderness until he can figure out what he’s going to do with the rest of his life.

When the plane carrying Aidan and Kerry crashes in the Canadian wilderness, only his knowledge—and Kerry’s hands—can treat the injured passengers until help arrives.

Although they have both sworn off romance for their own reasons, they can’t deny the attraction building between them as they wait for the search team to find them.
