The narrator did an excellent job bringing life to this story. I love the southern drawl she gave the local characters. HEA, with some steam, just short enough for an afternoon listen.

Flowers and cake

Drake is a shifter who made a home in the Bayou, with chosen family! Lori is a human photographer/freelance reporter. He saves her, she swoons but thinks he’s a cute foreigner whose having trouble communicating.

Short even for the rest of the series. But super cute!.

Loved It!

I loved this book! I've read several of Michelle M. Pillow's books, and listened to and loved her Lords of the Abyss series. This series is new to me, but this book sounded really interesting so I listened to it in audiobook- and I loved it! I was completely sucked in to the storyline. I loved both dragon shifter Drake and human journalist Lori. I loved his way of seeing things in human culture that are not quite correct, but so charming. The story was captivating and suspenseful. I also loved the supporting characters- specifically a certain Cajun lady whom I'd love to hang out with.

This was narrated by Sarah Pavalec- who did a wonderful job with the narration and I liked her voices for Drake, the Sheriff, and the Cajun lady- whom I loved the accent.

The way this story ended- I'm looking forward to more in this series, as well as hearing more from this narrator.

A Great Listen…Again

I really enjoyed the first book of this series, but I wasn't as wild about the second one. I'm happy to say that I found this one as good as the first one, even if it wasn't quite as humorous as that one was. The hero is not just a romantic hero. He is a hero in the truest sense. Unlike others from his home planet who just visit Earth through the portal on occasion, he has actually chosen to live in Cajun country on a swamp! He's a dragon shifter, and he uses his powers for good, helping people in the area when they get into scrapes, even known for saving people from a gator or two! He's become such a part of the fabric of the community that local law enforcement looks the other way, not wanting to bring any attention to this unique shifter creature and actually protecting him from others who would love to know that alien shifters are alive and well on planet Earth. The heroine has the potential to expose him for who he is. Her confusion and reaction to him seem quite normal, and I loved how they got to know each other naturally, even though this is a relatively quick read or listen. Absolutely adored this heroic hero and his journey to find his mate.

Bayou boy from another planet (spoilers included)

I loved the flow of this story. The characters were relatable, and Michelle M. Pillow sucks you in as soon as the story opens.

Who doesn't love a rebellious peasant breaking all the rules in the hopes of finding true love? I know I certainly do!

He travels to another planet and risks being trapped, then stumbles into a community and family that embraces and protects him.

She is stranded, surrounded by danger, and scared in the middle of a swamp.

They meet, and the sparks fly! Now he wants her as his life mate, and she has to decide if fame is worth his safety!!!

Riveting and definitely worth the listen! Sarah Pavelec brings the characters to life and gives them each a unique voice! LOVE it!!!
