Publisher's summary

When Dolly Christal, a refined bride-to-be from the East Coast, steps out of her train for a breath of fresh air at a whistle-stop in Colorado, little does she imagine that the doors will close on her, leaving her stranded in the middle of nowhere right before Christmas and unable to reach her fiance in Denver.

Fortunately, Yule Harken, a stranger with problems of his own, takes pity on the devastated young woman and invites her to stay with him and his sister at, of all places, a reindeer ranch.

Country life is hardly a welcome experience for the cultured Dolly, who frets over what her rich fiancé will be thinking and whether or not they still have a future together.

Though at first, Dolly and Yule repel each other, over the next few days, they begin to bond through a variety of Christmas activities.

Against her will, Dolly finds herself drawn to Yule, but she feels guilty and conflicted because of her promise to Ellsworth, a prosperous jeweler with a social background on par with her own. The last thing she needs or wants is the complication of falling for a handsome reindeer rancher.

When Dolly hurts herself while ice skating, Yule insists on accompanying her to Denver when the next train starts running on December twenty-fourth. It’s a bittersweet journey for both of them, with no possibility of a happy ending until an unusual twist of fate provides a ray of hope during the last few minutes of Christmas Eve.

If you love Western Christmas romances that transport you to a charming world of yesteryear where hearts entwine under unusual circumstances and love really can conquer all, then you'll enjoy this clean Yuletide tale of emotional highs and lows and unexpected romantic entanglements by Eliza Hutchins.
