Publisher's summary

Part Two of the Venice Trilogy begins three weeks after Salvio Scortini’s rampage through the calles and canals of the floating city...which is indeed floating since the acqua alta season is drenching everyone. The Verona family struggles to keep calm and carry on, but the pressure is building as the secret holding the family members hostage unravels. Raphielli Scortini thinks she’s being watched, and the anxiety of keeping her monstrous husband locked away in a friend’s basement is wearing on her. She’s through with being a victim and in the process of reinventing herself, when she stumbles upon something inside her palazzo that could provoke the Vatican to wage a holy war.

Another brilliant narration

I first read this trilogy last summer. Telling you that I loved the series is a complete understatement. So when I was able to listen to the series, I jumped at the chance. Once again the narrator (Kristen Sieh) does a fantastic job of telling this story. Her voice and cadence are wonderful companions to the visions of the story in one's head. When I came to the end I was startled, because my mind was so preoccupied, that I didn't even remember that I was at the end of the book! I am not sure how this story can get any better, but I can't wait to hear Surviving Venice (book #3 in this trilogy).

The adventure continues

Storming Venice is the second book in The Venice Trilogy of romantic suspense novels by Anna Bendewald.

The action in Storming Venice picks up just a few weeks after the events in Stealing Venice, with old characters making a return and with new ones introduced. Dark secrets, a dangerous and murderous enemy on a rampage, strong women, members of the LGBT community, and the battle of the great Houses in the floating city of Venice combine into a gripping story about love, power, friendship and family.

This second novel in The Venice Trilogy is as well written as the first, with an interesting plot, full of action and mystery. The author takes great care of her well defined characters and expands on their arcs.

The audiobook version of Storming Venice is recorded by renowned actor and Tony award-winning Broadway performer Kristen Sieh, who you may know from blockbuster TV series such as House of Cards, Orange Is the New Black, or Boardwalk Empire.

She once again draws from her extensive language skills in order to deliver an immersive and realistic narrative experience for the listener. Switching with ease between characters, voices, and accents, her narration of Storming Venice is spot-on. I think Kristen is a great choice as the voice for this entertaining trilogy.

After I listened to Stealing Venice I said that it could be the perfect summer listen and I extend this to Storming Venice. Two books in, the stakes are higher than ever, and I can’t wait to discover the conclusion in the last book of the The Venice Trilogy.
